About the Role

Hyperrail, India's Intelligent Payment Orchestration Platform, is looking for a Payment Integration & Technical Support Engineer to join our Navi Mumbai technology team.

You will support merchants across technical onboarding, API/SDK integration, Sandbox/UAT, production activation, payment troubleshooting and L1/L2 production support.

This is not a conventional IT helpdesk role. You will work directly with merchant technical teams, payment providers, DevOps and core engineering teams to investigate payment issues, identify root causes and drive incidents through to resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Own merchant technical onboarding and support API/SDK integrations.
• Support REST APIs, JSON, HTTP/HTTPS, webhooks, API authentication and JavaScript-based checkout/widget integrations.
• Assist integrations across React, Angular and standard HTML.
• Support Sandbox, UAT, certification and production go-live.
• Troubleshoot API requests/responses, webhooks, callbacks and authentication issues.
• Investigate successful, failed, pending and timed-out payment transactions.
• Analyse transaction/order IDs, provider references, PSP/bank response codes, application logs and transaction data.
• Identify whether issues originate with the merchant, Hyperrail, PSP, bank, network or infrastructure.
• Provide L1/L2 production support, perform initial root-cause analysis and reproduce issues.
• Escalate code-level issues with clear logs, API requests/responses and reproduction steps.
• Coordinate infrastructure incidents with DevOps and technical issues with development teams.
• Investigate reconciliation and settlement exceptions, including missing, delayed, partial or mismatched transactions.
• Support bug-fix testing, releases and UAT validation.
• Act as the technical bridge between merchants, payment providers, Mumbai operations, DevOps and core engineering teams.
• Own technical incidents through investigation, escalation, communication and closure.

Required Skills & Experience

• 2–5 years in Payment Integration, API Integration, FinTech, Technical/Production Support, Merchant Integration or Payment Gateway Support.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, HTTP/HTTPS, Webhooks, API Authentication and Postman.
• Good working knowledge of SQL and Linux troubleshooting.
• Experience analysing application logs and API request/response data.
• Basic JavaScript knowledge.
• Understanding of end-to-end payment transaction flows.
• Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and technical documentation skills.
• Good communication skills with the ability to work directly with merchants and technical teams.

Payment Experience Preferred

Hands-on experience with one or more of:

Payment Gateways | PSPs | UPI | Cards | Wallets | Bank Payments | Alternative Payment Methods | Payment Orchestration | Payment Routing | Reconciliation | Settlement | Merchant Onboarding.

Advantageous Technical Skills

Rust, Python, PostgreSQL/MySQL, Redis, Docker, AWS, Kubernetes, Git/GitLab, React or Angular.

Rust/basic code-debugging capability is advantageous but not mandatory.

What We're Looking For

We want an engineer who investigates before escalating.

When a merchant reports a payment failure, you should be able to determine what failed, reproduce the issue where possible, analyse API responses and logs, identify whether the likely cause sits with the merchant, Hyperrail, PSP, bank or infrastructure, and coordinate the right teams until resolution.

We value technical curiosity, structured troubleshooting, merchant communication, attention to detail and end-to-end ownership.

Compensation

₹8–12 LPA CTC, depending on relevant payments experience and technical capability.

Candidates with strong hands-on experience across merchant API integrations, payment gateways/PSPs, production troubleshooting, SQL/Linux and reconciliation may be considered towards the upper end of the range.

Pay: ₹70,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month

• Vashi, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra: Reliably commute or willing to relocate with an employer-provided relocation package (Preferred)
