DESCRIPTION
Customer Experience and Business Trends (CXBT) is seeking an experienced Risk and Compliance Manager. Our team focuses on improving customer experience at Amazon globally. The Risk and Compliance Manager will be responsible for managing global risk and compliance programs that include inventorying, assessing, managing, and monitoring important project-related risks.
The candidate will be hands on and must have an entrepreneurial mindset to be successful in this role. A successful candidate will have the opportunity to manage and iterate an approach to identifying, assessing, and driving remediation for a wide set of risks on our expanding projects.
The candidate must be comfortable with balancing strategic thinking with tactical, detailed execution while working independently, sorting through ambiguously defined problems, identifying and facing big challenges, and adjusting to sudden and frequent change. This role acts as a key liaison with Finance, Legal, Accounting, Tax, IT/Security, and business teams.
Key job responsibilities
You are a self-starter that will thrive in a fast-paced, start-up environment where all members are hands-on and have a voice in business decisions and like the challenges associated with working with ambiguity.
You are highly analytical, detail oriented, and understand how to operationalize key mechanisms related to quality and professional practice standards.

Guiding senior leadership to balance risk management concerns with pragmatic risk solutions
Maintaining a prioritized roadmap to address risks and improve risk programs.
About the team
Customer Experience and Business Trends (CXBT) is an organization made up of a diverse suite of functions dedicated to deeply understanding and improving customer experience, globally. We are a team of builders that develop products, services, ideas, and various ways of leveraging data to influence product and service offerings – for almost every business at Amazon – for every customer (e.g., consumers, developers, sellers/brands, employees, investors, streamers, gamers).
Our approach is based on determining the customer need, along with problem solving, and we work backwards from there. We use technical and non-technical approaches and stay aware of industry and business trends. We are a global team, made up of a diverse set of profiles, skills, and backgrounds – including: Product Managers, Software Developers, Computer Vision experts, Solutions Architects, Data Scientists, Business Intelligence Engineers, Business Analysts, Risk Managers, and more.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree or equivalent
- Experience building cross-functional partnerships and influencing stakeholders across the organization to act without having a direct reporting relationship
- Experience developing and implementing of standards, policies and programs or equivalent
- Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
