Veterinary Assistant – Mumbai (Chembur)

About The Exotics Vet

The Exotics Vet is a specialized veterinary clinic dedicated to providing advanced diagnostics, consultations, and medical care for a wide range of exotic animals, including birds, reptiles, rabbits, and small mammals. Our services include wellness exams, diagnostic imaging, surgeries, and species-specific care, delivered with compassion and clinical excellence.

Job Overview

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to support our clinical team in delivering safe, hygienic, and efficient care to animals. This is a hands-on role involving direct interaction with pets and assisting in daily clinic operations.

Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Handling & Care

  • Assist in handling and restraining pets (dogs, cats, birds, and small animals)
  • Ensure comfort of animals before, during, and after procedures
  • Help calm anxious or stressed animals

Clinic Hygiene & Setup

  • Prepare and maintain consultation rooms
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of clinical areas
  • Assist with waste disposal and hygiene protocols

Procedure Support

  • Assist veterinarians and technicians during consultations and procedures
  • Support basic care activities under supervision (wound cleaning, oral medication, etc.)
  • Monitor and report any changes in animal behavior

Post-Operative Care

  • Assist with cage cleaning, feeding, and monitoring animals
  • Support recovery and ensure animal comfort

Team Support

  • Coordinate with doctors and clinic staff
  • Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and discipline

Requirements

  • Minimum 12th pass (HSC)
  • Experience in pet care or clinic setting preferred
  • Physically fit for an active role (includes lifting pets and cleaning tasks)
  • Comfortable working shifts, weekends, and emergencies
  • Passion for animal care and willingness to learn

Salary

₹20,000 – ₹30,000 per month (based on experience)
