Job Title: Creative Visual Artist / Hand Illustration Artist

About The Murphy Studio

The Murphy Studio is a luxury design and wedding stationery studio known for crafting heirloom-worthy visual experiences through hand-painted illustrations, watercolor artistry, and bespoke design storytelling. Our work blends fine art with thoughtful design, creating timeless pieces for discerning clientele across India and globally.

We are looking for a Creative Visual Artist with strong hand illustration skills who can translate ideas into artistic, detail-oriented visuals aligned with our signature aesthetic.

Role Overview

As a Creative Visual Artist, you will be responsible for conceptualising and creating original hand-drawn and digitally refined illustrations used across luxury wedding invitations, bespoke stationery, branding projects, and surface design applications.

This role is ideal for someone who thinks like an artist and executes like a designer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create hand-painted and hand-drawn illustrations including motifs, florals, architectural elements, and thematic artworks
  • Develop creative visual concepts based on client briefs and design narratives
  • Translate sketches and paintings into print-ready digital formats
  • Work closely with the design team on storytelling, layouts, and visual direction
  • Maintain consistency with The Murphy Studio’s luxury aesthetic and detailing standards
  • Experiment with textures, mediums, and artistic styles aligned with brand projects
  • Support bespoke and custom illustration requirements for clients

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in hand illustration, sketching, or painting
  • Proficiency in at least one traditional medium (watercolor, ink, gouache, acrylic, pencil, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop for digitisation and refinement
  • Strong sense of composition, color harmony, and detailing
  • Ability to interpret creative briefs independently
  • High attention to craftsmanship and finishing
  • Portfolio demonstrating original artwork and illustration projects

Preferred Background

  • Degree/Diploma in Fine Arts, Applied Arts, Design, or related field
  • Experience in luxury design, stationery, surface design, or creative studios is a plus
  • Exposure to print production or motif development will be advantageous
