POSITION SUMMARY:
BOT VFX, a visual effects services company with global clients, is looking for a Sr.Matchmove/Rotomation Artist as a full-time Contractual role. The position is based out of Chennai/Coimbatore and Pune.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Delivering high-quality camera and object tracking on complex to high-end complex shots for CGI integration.
  • Performing accurate 3D rotoscoping and body tracking to match actors or objects for CG character and prop replacement.
  • Identifying and resolving complex technical issues related to rigs, lidar, or survey data during the tracking process.
  • Leading and mentoring new entrants and junior artists by conducting training sessions to upskill the team.
  • Providing regular internal status updates to ensure on-time delivery of shots within variable client pipelines.
  • Collaborating closely with Layout and Animation departments to ensure 3D scene continuity and accurate geometry.
  • Utilizing manual tracking techniques to resolve camera solves where automated tools fail.
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Minimum 5+ years of industry experience with a proven track record in high-end matchmove and rotomation.
  • Expert knowledge of Maya and 3DEqualizer; familiarity with Syntheyes or Boujou is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of 3D camera principles including lenses, distortion, parallax, overscan, and film backs.
  • Strong knowledge of animation and character rigs, including a solid grasp of IK/FK concepts.
  • Proficiency in using lidar and photogrammetry models for accurate scene reconstruction.
  • Technical leadership and mentoring abilities to guide and develop junior team members.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a positive, team-player attitude while working under tight deadlines.
