Job Summary
The Assistant Restaurant Manager supports the Restaurant Manager in the daily operation of the restaurant. The role is responsible for ensuring excellent customer service, smooth front-of-house and back-of-house coordination, staff supervision, food quality, hygiene, and achievement of operational and sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Restaurant Manager in managing day-to-day restaurant operations.
- Supervise and coordinate restaurant staff during assigned shifts.
- Ensure high standards of customer service and guest satisfaction.
- Handle customer feedback, complaints, and service recovery professionally.
- Monitor food and beverage quality, presentation, and portion standards.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, health, and sanitation standards.
- Assist with staff scheduling, attendance, training, and performance monitoring.
- Conduct pre-shift briefings and communicate daily operational requirements.
- Monitor inventory, stock levels, wastage, and portion control.
- Coordinate with kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist with cash handling, billing, POS operations, and daily cash reconciliation.
- Support achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets.
- Monitor restaurant costs and help control labor, food, and operational expenses.
- Ensure the restaurant, dining area, kitchen, and storage areas are clean and well maintained.
- Assist in opening and closing procedures and ensure all checklists are completed.
- Coordinate with suppliers and other departments when required.
- Prepare operational reports and communicate issues to the Restaurant Manager.
- Support promotional activities, events, and special customer requirements.
- Ensure company policies, SOPs, and service standards are consistently followed.
- Take charge of the restaurant in the Restaurant Manager's absence.

Qualification & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in restaurant/hospitality operations, preferably with supervisory experience.
- Experience in a high-volume restaurant, hotel, café, QSR, or fine-dining environment is an advantage.
