Background Artist jobs

Dexhigh Services Pvt Ltd is looking for a 2D Concept Artist (fresher or junior, 0–2 years of experience) to join our art team remotely. You'll work on character, prop, and environment concept art under the guidance of senior artists, and support the team with in-engine quality checks and asset production.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating character concept art, from sketches through to polished designs, for use by the modelling team
• Support UI element and game interface art creation in line with the art direction
• Help design props, including vehicles/ships and other in-world objects
• Contribute to 2D game asset production across characters, props, and UI
• Assist with environmental concept art, including guild/faction concepts and background art for TFT-style (auto-battler) games
• Support quality checks within the Unity engine to ensure design consistency
• Work closely with senior artists, modellers, and game designers, and take feedback to improve craft

Requirements

• 0–2 years of experience (freshers welcome) in 2D concept art / character design for games
• A portfolio (student work, personal projects, or professional work) showing character, environment, or prop design skills
• Working knowledge of industry-standard tools (Photoshop, Procreate, or equivalent)
• Priority: working knowledge of high-standard AI design tools (e.g., Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, Stable Diffusion, or similar) as part of the concept art workflow
• Basic familiarity with the Unity engine is a plus, but not mandatory
• Good understanding of composition, color theory, and visual storytelling fundamentals

Good to Have

• A degree/diploma in animation, game art, illustration, or a related field
• Personal projects or fan art related to game/character design
• Any exposure to mobile/TFT-style (auto-battler) game art or UI/UX art for games
