Job Title: Lab Technician – Biochemistry
Department: Laboratory Services – Biochemistry
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital laboratory (Biochemistry)
Salary: Based on experience and qualifications

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized biochemistry tests as per standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Receive, verify, process, and prepare patient specimens for analysis.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain automated biochemistry analyzers and laboratory equipment.
• Perform internal quality control (IQC) and participate in external quality assurance (EQAS) programs.
• Ensure accurate documentation and timely reporting of test results.
• Identify and report abnormal or critical values to the concerned pathologist/biochemist as per protocol.
• Maintain laboratory records, reagent inventory, and equipment maintenance logs.
• Follow infection control, biosafety, and waste disposal guidelines.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of reagents, samples, and consumables.
• Coordinate with clinicians, nursing staff, and other departments for timely sample processing.
• Assist during NABL audits and maintain compliance with laboratory quality standards.
• Perform other laboratory duties assigned by the Laboratory Manager or Consultant Biochemist.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. MLT / DMLT or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the Biochemistry section of a hospital laboratory.
• Knowledge of laboratory quality systems and NABL standards is preferred.

Required Skills

• Hands-on experience with automated biochemistry analyzers.
• Knowledge of laboratory quality control procedures.
• Strong analytical and observation skills.
• Good documentation and record-keeping abilities.
• Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in rotational shifts and under pressure.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
