Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of medical equipment.
• Assist with installation, commissioning, testing, and acceptance of new equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment faults and coordinate repairs with authorized service providers when required.
• Conduct routine safety checks and performance testing of biomedical equipment.
• Maintain accurate equipment inventory, service records, maintenance logs, and calibration certificates.
• Assist in calibration and electrical safety testing of medical equipment.
• Respond promptly to breakdown calls from clinical and support departments.
• Coordinate with nurses, doctors, technicians, vendors, and other hospital departments regarding equipment-related issues.
• Ensure equipment is maintained according to manufacturer recommendations and hospital policies.
• Support the biomedical equipment preventive maintenance schedule and ensure timely completion.
• Assist in managing warranty, AMC/CMC, service contracts, and vendor visits.
• Verify newly purchased equipment and assist with technical evaluation when required.
• Ensure proper documentation of equipment breakdowns, repairs, spare parts, and service activities.
• Provide basic user training to hospital staff on the safe operation of equipment.
• Support compliance with hospital accreditation, safety, infection-control, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in equipment audits, risk assessments, quality improvement activities, and emergency preparedness.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow hospital safety and professional standards.

Equipment Exposure

Depending on the hospital, the role may involve:

• Patient monitors
• ECG machines
• Infusion and syringe pumps
• Ventilators
• Defibrillators
• Electrosurgical units
• Anesthesia machines
• Pulse oximeters
• Suction machines
• ICU and OT equipment
• Laboratory and diagnostic equipment
• Other medical and life-support equipment

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Knowledge of medical equipment, electronics, instrumentation, and basic electrical safety.
• Fresh graduates or candidates with 0–2 years of relevant experience may be considered.
• Knowledge of hospital biomedical equipment and maintenance practices is preferred.

Pay: ₹15,000.03 - ₹30,000.00 per month
