Operation Theatre Technician

Job Summary

Olmec Cosmetic Surgery is seeking a qualified and dedicated Operation Theatre Technician to join our surgical team. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of operation theatre procedures, sterile techniques, infection control, and surgical instruments, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the operation theatre, surgical instruments, and equipment before and during procedures.
• Ensure proper sterilization, aseptic techniques, and infection-control protocols are followed.
• Assist surgeons, nurses, and other clinical staff during surgical procedures.
• Ensure surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies are available and ready when required.
• Handle and maintain OT equipment appropriately and report any equipment issues promptly.
• Assist with patient positioning, transfer, and safe movement as required.
• Maintain accurate operation theatre records and documentation.
• Ensure proper segregation and disposal of biomedical waste according to applicable protocols.
• Coordinate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and the wider clinical team to ensure smooth surgical operations.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of the operation theatre at all times.

Requirements

• Diploma/Certificate in Operation Theatre Technology (OTT) or an equivalent qualification.
• Knowledge of sterile techniques, infection control, surgical instruments, and OT protocols.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety and hygiene protocols.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment.
• Previous experience in an operation theatre, hospital, or surgical facility is preferred.
