Air Medical 24x7 is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Biomedical Engineer to manage, maintain, inspect, and troubleshoot medical equipment used in healthcare and medical transportation operations. The ideal candidate will ensure the safety, reliability, and operational readiness of medical devices and equipment used in patient transfers, air ambulance services, and associated clinical operations.

The candidate will coordinate with medical teams, equipment suppliers, service providers, and internal operations personnel to ensure that all medical equipment is maintained in accordance with applicable standards, manufacturer recommendations, and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities1. Medical Equipment Maintenance

Install, inspect, test, calibrate, and maintain medical equipment according to manufacturer guidelines.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on patient monitors, ventilators, defibrillators, infusion pumps, suction units, oxygen delivery systems, and other medical devices.
Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs with authorized service providers when required.
Maintain equipment service records, maintenance schedules, calibration certificates, and repair reports.
Ensure medical devices are functioning correctly and are ready for operational deployment.

2. Air Ambulance & Medical Transport Equipment Support

Inspect and maintain medical equipment intended for air ambulance and patient transportation operations.
Verify the readiness of portable ventilators, monitors, oxygen systems, battery-powered devices, and emergency medical equipment.
Assist in evaluating the suitability of medical equipment for transport environments, including vibration, power supply, space, and mounting requirements.
Coordinate with medical and operations teams to ensure the availability of appropriate equipment before each mission.
Support equipment checks before deployment and after the completion of medical transport assignments.
Identify technical risks and escalate equipment issues that may affect patient safety or operational readiness.

3. Inventory & Asset Management

Maintain an updated inventory of biomedical equipment, accessories, spare parts, and consumables under the company's responsibility.
Track equipment serial numbers, asset identification details, warranties, service history, and calibration due dates.
Monitor equipment availability and coordinate procurement or replacement requests when necessary.
Ensure proper storage, handling, cleaning, and documentation of medical devices.
Maintain records of equipment issuance, return, repair, and replacement.

4. Compliance & Quality Assurance

Support compliance with applicable medical device regulations, safety requirements, and internal quality procedures.
Ensure equipment maintenance and calibration are performed by appropriately qualified or authorized personnel.
Maintain documentation for inspections, audits, incident investigations, and equipment performance reviews.
Report defective equipment, safety concerns, and recurring technical issues to the appropriate management team.
Assist in developing equipment maintenance SOPs, checklists, and technical guidelines.

5. Technical Support & Training

Provide technical guidance to clinical and operational staff on the proper use and basic troubleshooting of medical equipment.
Conduct equipment familiarization and training sessions when required.
Liaise with manufacturers, distributors, and authorized service centres for technical support and spare parts.
Research new medical technologies and recommend suitable equipment based on operational requirements, safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Prepare periodic reports on equipment status, maintenance activities, and outstanding technical issues.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Instrumentation, or a related engineering discipline.
Freshers with relevant technical knowledge and practical training may apply; prior experience in biomedical equipment maintenance will be an advantage.
Knowledge of medical devices such as ventilators, patient monitors, defibrillators, infusion pumps, suction machines, and oxygen delivery systems.
Understanding of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, electrical safety, and equipment documentation.
Familiarity with medical equipment standards, manufacturer service manuals, and quality management procedures.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and equipment inventory management.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to coordinate with healthcare professionals, vendors, and internal teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Internship or experience in a hospital, diagnostic centre, medical equipment company, or healthcare organization.
Exposure to critical care equipment and patient transport systems.
Knowledge of ISO 13485, IEC 60601, and relevant medical device safety standards.
Experience with equipment maintenance management systems or computerized asset tracking.

Note: Candidates with additional language proficiency will be considered an added advantage. Applicants should be willing to coordinate with the company's Dubai-based operations team and support technical requirements for international medical transportation services when required.

Pay: ₹11,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
