Job Description: Microbiologist

Location: Chuvannamannu, Thrissur

Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Microbiologist to join our Quality Control Department. The candidate will be responsible for microbiological testing, environmental monitoring, documentation, and ensuring compliance with applicable GMP and quality standards in an Ayurvedic manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for updating quality plan for testing of raw materials,in -process,packing material & finished products

2. Allocate and monitor works assigned to the team as per quality plan.

3. Receive instructions with respect to specific tests from Head QA/QC and complete tests as required and report.

4. Complete tests if any through VARI or from HO interpret and communicate test results to the concerned department for taking actions.

5. Complete testing and analytical work in case of product complaints

6. Complete analytical works in case of process errors, incidents and report to production department.

7. Complete analytical works & documentation for fulfilling requirements for submission to Drug licence &External country regulatory bodies.

8. Ensure periodic caliberation of lab instruments

9. Review and approve test results through ERP for releasing to market.

10. Prepare output analysis report on weekly/monthly basis and submit it to Unit Head.

11. Carryout role of Botanist/Chemist/QA Physician in their absence

12. Train and develop team for better performance

13. Carry out Microbiological related works

14. Stock maintenance of Spirit (Ethyl alcohol)

15. Coordinates and reporting lab trials as per the instruction from VARI/HO QC

16. WIP cross checking in monthly basis

17. Label proof checking ,lot checking and batch wise checking before labelling.

18. Purchase of lab consumables and equipment by collecting quotation and approval through ERP.

19. All financial approval relating to reprocess and discarding of final and intermediate products as well as rawmaterials through ERP.

20. In addition to the above ,will be acting as a Management Representative for the implementation ,Monitoring,and coordination for the ISO 9001:2015 requirements.

Requirements:

• B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Microbiology or equivalent qualification..
• 3 + years of relevant experience in Quality Control, pharmaceutical, Ayurvedic, herbal manufacturing industries will be preferred.
• Basic knowledge of GMP, GLP, SOPs, and laboratory documentation.
• Good knowledge of microbiological testing techniques.
• Familiarity with microbiological laboratory instruments and aseptic practices.
• Good observation and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of GMP and QC documentation.
• Basic computer knowledge and proficiency in MS Office.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a Quality Control team.
