Job Overview
Fourth Command is looking for a Junior IT Security Analyst for a technical cybersecurity role focused on supporting day-to-day security operations and helping protect client and internal environments from cyber threats. This role is suitable for a fresher or early-career candidate who wants to build hands-on experience in areas such as security monitoring, alert triage, vulnerability management, incident response support, endpoint security, network security, and technical documentation.
The selected candidate will work with the security team to monitor security tools, review alerts, support investigations, assist with vulnerability identification and remediation tracking, and help maintain the effectiveness of security controls across systems and platforms. Junior security analysts commonly support the front-line technical work of identifying suspicious activity, analyzing security events, and helping improve an organization’s defensive posture.
This role is best suited for a candidate with a strong technical interest in cybersecurity, a willingness to learn hands-on tools and processes, and a disciplined approach to analysis, troubleshooting, and documentation. The position also requires basic understanding of operating systems, networking, security tools, and coding or scripting concepts that can support automation and operational tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events generated by security tools such as SIEM, XDR, antivirus, endpoint protection, IDS/IPS, firewall logs, or related monitoring platforms, and support initial triage of suspicious activities.
- Assist in identifying, analyzing, and escalating security incidents based on severity, impact, and available evidence.
- Support incident response activities by collecting basic information, documenting observations, creating tickets, tracking actions, and coordinating with senior analysts or technical teams during investigations.
- Perform or support vulnerability assessment activities, including reviewing scan results, validating findings, tracking remediation progress, and maintaining vulnerability records.
- Assist in the configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of technical security tools and controls used across endpoint, network, server, cloud, or application environments.
- Review logs, alerts, and system behavior to help identify anomalies, suspicious patterns, or indicators of compromise.
- Support endpoint and system security activities such as patch follow-up, antivirus status checks, system hardening coordination, access reviews, and compliance with basic security baselines.
- Work with internal teams to raise, track, and follow up on security issues, remediation actions, and operational tasks related to threats, vulnerabilities, or system weaknesses.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation such as incident notes, vulnerability trackers, asset observations, investigation records, standard operating procedures, and security support documents.
- Stay updated on emerging cyber threats, attacker techniques, common vulnerabilities, and security technologies relevant to operational defense and monitoring.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Fresher candidates can apply for this role.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in:
- BSc (IT)
- BSc (Cyber Security)
- BSc (Computer Science)
- BCA
- Or other related technical backgrounds aligned to information security and systems support.
- Candidate must have a minimum academic qualification of above 7.0 CGPA in their qualifying degree.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts such as threats, vulnerabilities, malware, phishing, endpoint security, network security, and incident handling is required.
- Familiarity with technical security domains such as SIEM, EDR/XDR, vulnerability management, firewall basics, antivirus, log analysis, or IDS/IPS will be an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts such as IP addressing, ports, protocols, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, VPN, and firewalls is important for this role.
- Basic understanding of Windows, Linux, endpoints, user access, and system-level security controls is preferred.
- Basic coding or scripting knowledge is required, with familiarity in Python, PowerShell, Bash, Node.js, React, or related technologies being useful for automation, tool support, integrations, and technical troubleshooting.
- Awareness of vulnerability scanning, remediation tracking, and technical issue documentation will be beneficial.
- Good analytical thinking, troubleshooting ability, and attention to detail are important for monitoring and incident support work.
- Good written and verbal communication skills are required for documentation, reporting, and coordination with technical teams.
Working Model
This is a full-time technical cybersecurity role with Fourth Command and is suitable for candidates who are comfortable working in a structured operational environment. The role may require continuous coordination with internal security teams, technical teams, and project stakeholders for monitoring, investigation support, remediation follow-up, and security operations activities.
The position is ideal for candidates who want practical exposure to technical cybersecurity work and are interested in building long-term careers in security operations, threat monitoring, vulnerability management, detection engineering support, or incident response. The role demands consistency, focus, and readiness to learn tools, processes, and technologies used in real-world cyber defense environments.
Mindset and Commitment
Fourth Command is looking for a candidate who is technically curious, disciplined, and committed to learning cybersecurity through hands-on operational work. Since this is a junior role, the company will value sincerity, willingness to learn, strong observation skills, and the ability to follow structured security processes carefully and responsibly.
The ideal candidate should be proactive, alert, and comfortable working with logs, alerts, systems, and technical observations. A strong sense of ownership, timely escalation, professional communication, and a genuine interest in technical cybersecurity will be important for success in this role.
