Position: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Location: Gurgaon

Working Days: Monday to Friday

Experience Required: upto 5 to 6+ years

Client: D2C clothing brand

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on and strategic Chief Technology Officer (CTO) who has built complete technology architecture from scratch for a D2C brand, marketplace, or high-growth digital business.

The ideal candidate has strong experience across website, mobile app, backend systems, and data platforms, and can design systems that are scalable, efficient, and enable fast, data-driven decision-making. This role requires someone who is both a leader and a builder — with real-world experience in developing, managing, and scaling teams and platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Strategy & Architecture

  • Design and own the end-to-end technology architecture (web, mobile, backend, data, and integrations).
  • Ensure scalability, security, performance, and cost efficiency of all systems.
  • Align the tech roadmap with business goals and growth strategy.
  • Drive architectural decisions to support experimentation and speed.

Product & Platform Development

  • Lead development of websites, mobile apps, backend services, APIs, and internal tools.
  • Maintain high engineering quality, performance, and reliability.
  • Oversee third-party integrations (payments, logistics, CRM, marketing, analytics, etc.).
  • Continuously manage and reduce technical debt.

Data & Decision Enablement

  • Build and manage data infrastructure for reporting, analytics, and business intelligence.
  • Enable actionable insights across leadership, product, and operations.
  • Ensure data accuracy, governance, and security.

Team Building & Leadership

  • Hire, build, and manage engineering and data teams.
  • Establish development processes, standards, and best practices.
  • Mentor engineers and develop internal tech leadership.
  • Foster a strong culture of ownership and execution.

Operations & Execution

  • Oversee releases, uptime, performance, and incident management.
  • Ensure security, compliance, and system reliability.
  • Partner with business leaders to translate needs into technical solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • 5–6+ years of experience in technology roles.
  • Proven experience building full-stack platforms for D2C, marketplace, or consumer internet businesses.
  • Strong knowledge of web, mobile, backend, cloud, and data systems.
  • Experience designing scalable and reliable architectures.
  • Prior experience hiring and managing engineering teams.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Startup or high-growth company experience.
  • Experience with cloud-native, microservices, and modern data stacks.
  • Understanding of security, compliance, and privacy best practices.
  • Product mindset and strong business understanding.
