About the Role

We're looking for a passionate and experienced Head Barista to lead the coffee program at Zilch Café. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in crafting exceptional coffee, enjoys mentoring a team, and understands that every cup contributes to the overall guest experience.

As the Head Barista, you will oversee all coffee and beverage operations, ensure consistency in quality and presentation, train and develop the barista team, and contribute to creating an elevated café experience that reflects the Zilch brand.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the coffee bar.
• Prepare and oversee the preparation of espresso-based beverages, manual brews, teas, and specialty drinks to the highest standards.
• Ensure consistency in beverage quality, presentation, and taste across every service.
• Train, mentor, and develop baristas on brewing techniques, latte art, customer service, and operational standards.
• Monitor coffee extraction, grinder calibration, milk texturing, and equipment performance to maintain exceptional quality.
• Work closely with the culinary and operations teams to create seasonal beverages and innovative café offerings.
• Manage inventory of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other beverage supplies while minimizing wastage.
• Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and maintenance of the coffee station and equipment.
• Build relationships with guests by delivering warm, knowledgeable, and personalized service.
• Uphold food safety, sanitation, and brand standards at all times.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Head Barista, Senior Barista, or Café Beverage Lead in a premium café, specialty coffee shop, hotel, or restaurant.
• Strong knowledge of espresso extraction, grinder calibration, milk texturing, latte art, and specialty coffee preparation.
• Experience with commercial espresso machines and coffee equipment.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
• Passion for coffee, hospitality, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Hospitality or specialty coffee industry experience is highly preferred.
