Senior Accountant

Summary

SimpleTherapy is hiring a remote, full-time Senior Accountant based in India to support our U.S. accounting and finance operations. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you’ll own hands-on accounting work — month-end close, reconciliations, and multi-entity consolidation under U.S. GAAP — alongside the analysis that informs leadership decisions. We work flexibly, asking for a minimum 3–4 hours of daily overlap with U.S. Pacific Time (PT). This is a high-ownership role on a lean, high-trust team at a fast-scaling digital health company — with real visibility and room to grow.

About SimpleTherapy

SimpleTherapy is a U.S.-based digital health company on a mission to make care simple. We bring together musculoskeletal (MSK) and behavioral/mental health into one experience for employers, health plans, and government programs — pairing technology-guided digital programs (SimpleMSK, SimpleEAP, SimpleBehavioral, SimpleWellbeing) with a nationwide network of licensed providers. The result: better outcomes for members and lower costs for the organizations that cover them.

We grew by bringing several businesses under one roof, so we run as a multi-entity organization — and yes, that makes the accounting interesting. We were also named one of the Top 50 Healthcare Technology Companies of 2025. We’re scaling fast, and finance has a real seat at the table.

What You’ll Own

  • Drive month-end and quarter-end close: prepare and post journal entries (accruals, prepaids, amortization, payroll, deferred revenue) and keep closes accurate and on time.
  • Reconcile accounts across multiple entities — and play detective on anything that doesn’t tie out.
  • Help prepare consolidated financial statements under U.S. GAAP.
  • Keep the workpapers and schedules clean (deferred revenue, prepaid amortization, fixed assets).
  • Run variance analysis (actuals vs. budget/prior period) and turn the “why” into clear commentary for leadership.
  • Build and maintain models, reports, and dashboards that people actually use to make decisions.
  • Track and help forecast cash flow.
  • Partner with AP, payroll, and revenue to make sure everything lands in the right place.
  • Take on the interesting one-off analyses and projects that come with a scaling business.

What You Bring

  • 3–5 years of progressive experience in accounting and/or finance.
  • A solid accounting foundation with working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
  • The rare ability to zoom in on the details and zoom out to the analysis — and enjoy both.
  • Advanced Excel chops (complex formulas, pivot tables, real financial modeling).
  • Hands-on experience with close, journal entries, and reconciliations.
  • Sharp attention to detail and the discipline to hit deadlines independently in a remote setup.
  • Clear, confident written and verbal English.
  • Reliable availability to overlap with U.S. Pacific Time business hours.

Bonus Points

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) strongly preferred (CPA, ACCA, CFA, or MBA-Finance also welcome).
  • Experience supporting a U.S.-based company, a Global Capability Center (GCC), Big 4, or a U.S. accounting/outsourcing environment.
  • Comfort with multi-entity consolidation.
  • A modern ERP under your belt (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks) plus reporting tools.

How We Work

Fully remote, based in India, supporting a U.S. team — with flexible working hours. We ask for a minimum 3–4 hours of daily overlap with U.S. Pacific Time (PT) so you’re in sync with your team; how you structure the rest of your day is yours to own.

Why You’ll Like It Here

  • Fully remote, with a collaborative finance team that moves fast and trusts each other.
  • Flexible working hours — structure your day around a core US-overlap window.
  • Direct exposure to U.S. GAAP, consolidated reporting, and leadership-level analysis — the kind of experience that compounds on a resume.
  • Real ownership and a clear runway to grow as the company grows.
  • Hands-on AI-in-finance exposure — including access to AI tools like Claude — with sponsored training as needed for the role.
  • Competitive compensation, benchmarked to industry standards.

Ready to Apply?

Send your resume to shweta@simpletherapy.com with the subject line “Senior Accountant — [Your Name].” Bonus: a line or two on your U.S. GAAP and close experience helps us move fast.

SimpleTherapy is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds.

Pay: ₹133,000.00 - ₹167,000.00 per month
