Key Responsibilities

1. Site Execution & Supervision

  • Supervise day-to-day civil construction activities at the project site.
  • Execute work as per approved drawings, BOQ, specifications and instructions.
  • Monitor RCC, shuttering, reinforcement, masonry, plastering, flooring, waterproofing, painting and other finishing works.
  • Check line, level, alignment, dimensions and workmanship before and during execution.
  • Ensure proper sequencing of activities to achieve project milestones.

2. Government Project Coordination

  • Coordinate with Government/Defence department engineers, JE/AE/EE, consultants and client representatives.
  • Understand and follow project specifications, contract conditions and departmental requirements.
  • Attend site inspections and meetings with client representatives.
  • Ensure compliance with site instructions and rectify observations within timelines.

3. Measurement & Billing

  • Take accurate site measurements of completed work.
  • Maintain measurement records and support preparation of MB / Joint Measurement / RA Bills.
  • Verify quantities against BOQ and actual site execution.
  • Prepare quantity calculations, material reconciliation and BBS wherever required.
  • Assist the Project Manager/Billing Engineer in preparing client bills and subcontractor bills.

4. Drawings & Technical Documentation

  • Read and understand architectural, structural and service drawings.
  • Coordinate drawings with actual site conditions.
  • Identify discrepancies or technical issues and report them to the Senior Engineer/Project Manager.
  • Maintain updated drawings, approved specifications and site instructions.
  • Prepare basic AutoCAD drawings/mark-ups wherever required.

5. Quality Control

  • Ensure construction is carried out as per specified quality standards.
  • Check quality of incoming materials and workmanship.
  • Coordinate concrete cube tests and other required material tests.
  • Maintain quality-related records, checklists and inspection reports.
  • Ensure rectification of defects and client observations.

6. Manpower & Material Management

  • Monitor labour and subcontractor deployment at site.
  • Plan daily manpower requirements in coordination with the Supervisor/Project Manager.
  • Monitor material consumption and wastage.
  • Raise material requirements/indents in advance.
  • Coordinate with procurement and stores teams to ensure uninterrupted execution.

7. Site Reporting

  • Prepare Daily Progress Reports (DPR).
  • Maintain daily records of manpower, materials, work completed and site issues.
  • Submit weekly/monthly progress updates to the Project Manager.
  • Maintain photographic records of important construction activities.
  • Track planned vs. actual progress and highlight delays.

8. Safety & Site Discipline

  • Ensure workers follow basic safety procedures and PPE requirements.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping at the site.
  • Report unsafe conditions, accidents or incidents immediately.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of construction materials.

Required Technical Skills

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Good knowledge of RCC, masonry, plastering, flooring, waterproofing and finishing works.
  • Ability to read architectural and structural drawings.
  • Good understanding of BOQ and quantity measurement.
  • Knowledge of RA Billing, MB/Joint Measurement and BBS will be preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Excel.
  • Knowledge of government/CPWD/PWD/departmental construction practices will be an advantage.
  • Ability to prepare DPR and maintain project documentation.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • 2–5 years of relevant site experience preferred.
  • Experience in Government, Defence, PSU, institutional or infrastructure projects will be preferred.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Should be capable of handling the site independently.
  • Should be disciplined, responsible and comfortable working in a site-based environment.
  • Willingness to travel or relocate depending on project requirements.
  • Candidates who have previously worked with Government/Defence construction contractors will be preferred.

Key Performance Indicators (KPI)

The candidate will be evaluated on:

  • Timely execution of assigned activities.
  • Quality and compliance of work.
  • Accuracy of measurements and quantity records.
  • Timely submission of DPR/site documentation.
  • Manpower and material productivity.
  • Reduction of material wastage and rework.
  • Coordination with client and subcontractors.
  • Achievement of project milestones.

Salary & Benefits

Salary: ₹25,000 – ₹30,000 per month, depending on experience and capability.
