Job Title: Public Relations Consultant
Department: Marketing & Corporate Communications
Location: Remote
Engagement Type: Independent Consultant — Monthly Retainer or Project-Based (open to discussion)
Experience Required: 5–15+ years in Public Relations, Media Relations, or Healthcare Communications
LifeScanners HealthCare Pvt. Ltd: DIGIPATH AI is a Pune-based preventive healthcare company specializing in early cancer detection technologies. We are looking for an experienced, independent Public Relations Consultant to build our media presence and public credibility in the preventive healthcare and cancer-screening space. This is a subject-matter-driven PR role — the ideal candidate must be able to translate complex diagnostic and medical technology into accurate, compelling stories that journalists, doctors, and the public can trust. The consultant will work directly with the founding/marketing team to build LifeScanners into a recognized, credible voice in early cancer detection across Indian print, digital, and broadcast media.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute media strategy and messaging aligned with DIGIPATH AI's brand and business goals.
- Draft press releases, opinion articles, and media pitches related to technologies and the company's cancer screening initiatives.
- Conduct proactive journalist outreach and story pitching to secure credible print, digital, and broadcast coverage.
- Support reputation management and provide crisis communication advice as needed.
- Advise and train company spokespersons for media interactions.
- Plan and coordinate national and regional media engagement.
- Translate technical and clinical information about cancer screening into accurate, accessible media narratives.
- Liaise with DIGIPATH AI leadership to ensure messaging consistency across investors, partners, and public-facing communication.
- Plan and support media visibility around disease-awareness campaigns (e.g., Cancer Awareness Month), product/technology milestones, and CME or doctor-outreach events.
- Track media coverage, monitor competitor and industry PR activity, and share monthly reports with key insights and recommendations.
- Ensure all public communication complies with healthcare/medical advertising norms and ethical claim standards applicable in India.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Public Relations, English, or a related field; a postgraduate diploma in PR/Corporate Communication is a plus.
- 5–15+ years of experience in public relations, media relations, or corporate communications, with demonstrable experience in healthcare, diagnostics, pharma, or med-tech PR preferred.
- Proven track record of securing editorial coverage — writing samples or published clippings must be shareable.
- Strong existing relationships with health/science journalists and editors in the Indian media landscape (national and Pune/Maharashtra regional media a plus).
- Excellent writing skills — press releases, bylines, interviews, and media pitches — with the ability to simplify clinical/scientific information without losing accuracy.
- Sound judgment on what is genuinely newsworthy and sensitive to healthcare-related ethical and regulatory considerations.
- Ability to work independently, discreetly, and with minimal supervision as an outside consultant.
- Independent consultant status, or clear written permission from a current employer to take on outside consulting work, is required before engagement.
What We Offer
- Flexible retainer or project-based engagement structure.
- Direct access to founders and leadership — a chance to shape the PR narrative of a growing preventive healthcare company from a strategic level.
- Meaningful, purpose-driven work in early cancer detection with real public health impact.
- Opportunity for a long-term consulting relationship based on performance.
Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per year
Work Location: Remote
