GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

The General Manager has overall responsibilities for the operation and output of their facility, to include quality, delivery, safety, cost, productivity, and regulatory compliance. The GM leads a team of employees to meet or exceed the established goals and objectives for the site.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supports and provides input on business strategy and goals in their operational region, in line with the overall strategic intent.
• Identifies and supports opportunities to maximize sales, contribution and market share for the region.
• Through communications with VP of Operations and Sales team, is aware of the annual sales plan and provides support in order to achieve agreed business objectives and strategies.
• Leads and continuously develops an effective operational and sales team, committed to delivering results to meet both short-term and long-term business objectives.
• Provides guidance on and clarity to team members on the goals to be achieved as well as how individual functions can support those goals.
• As needed, hires new team members whose talents will best fit the needs of the company (skills, knowledge, work experience, culture fit). Develops team members via ongoing communication, training, coaching, and counseling. Is responsible for appraising performance, recommending wage increases, promotions, and dismissals. Utilizes HR and/or external consultants when required.
• Builds a transparent, consistent and performance driven culture to motivate staff to meet and exceed expectations.
• Drives financial performance by managing budgets, forecasting and identifying opportunities for growth while maintaining close focus on cost containment strategies to achieve SCS financial goals.
• Creates and maintains a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Shares and leverages best practices.
• Collaborates with management to strategically build and improve organizational capability and business excellence. Leads or participates in projects for clarifying and/or enhancing business processes.
• Drives cross-functional processes to achieve outstanding customer satisfaction, employee engagement and overall business performance.
• Ensues that SCS is well represented locally and in the region. Maintains high level, active relationships with customers and general business community
• Establishes and maintains healthy customer relations, networks and customer services, especially relating to key opinion leaders in order to achieve customer satisfaction and enhance the image of SCS in the market.
• Ensures that SCS complies regionally and globally with all aspects of corporate governance including but not limited to legal, financial, quality, and technical requirements and regulations.
• Ensures & promotes adherence to all SCS policies and procedures by fostering a culture of compliance and accountability.
• Develops and maintains constructive relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
• Ensures implementation of all corporate procedures and safety/security policies/crisis management and other business requirements in order to maintain good corporate practice, uphold company reputation and safeguard all company assets.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Works closely with the VP of Operations or designee to create and submit an annual operating and headcount budget.
• Measures site performance against established metrics and reports results.
• Travels up to 10% of time, both domestically and internationally.
• May perform other duties or work on other projects as dictated by fluctuating business needs.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor degree or equivalent from university, with a concentration in business, engineering or related area. Ten or more years of closely related work experience, with 5 or more years of management/supervision experience in a manufacturing setting. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must possess a valid passport for travel.

BASIC SKILLS:

• Ability to comprehend and communicate fluently in English both in writing and orally.
• Capable of speaking effectively in front of groups and give professional presentations.
• Ability to manage people, resources and multiple priorities.
• Proven ability to manage financial budgets and analyzing monthly and annual financial statements, identify performance trends, cost containment opportunities and providing data driven recommendations to senior management.
• Possesses the ability to manage resources and multiple priorities and must be able to interact with individuals at all levels within the organization, as well as customers.
• Ability to field questions, react quickly and decisively, verbalize abstract concepts, make decisions based on facts or past experiences/knowledge, and build effective teams.
• Possesses proficiency in Microsoft Excel®, Powerpoint® and Word® software.
• Successful track record of close and effective interactions with Sales and Marketing to support customer focus and targeted operations.
• Proven history of ability to effectively manage people, resources and multiple priorities.
• Ability to give clear verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to lead, motivate and develop personnel.

Working Conditions

• Based at the manufacturing facility in Bangalore, India.
• Periodic travel may be required to support business operations, customers, or suppliers.
• Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment.
