Full job description

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Database Administrator / Engineer to join our team in a techno-functional capacity. In this role, you will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and automating our mixed database platforms to ensure high availability, peak performance, and absolute reliability.

Our environment is highly dynamic and multi-cloud. While MySQL is our primary immediate priority for onboarding, we operate a hybrid ecosystem including MongoDB, PostgreSQL (including Cosmos DB for PostgreSQL), and Cassandra. We need a senior engineer who brings deep expertise in MySQL and cloud migrations, combined with a polyglot mindset—someone eager to support and learn multiple database technologies as our infrastructure evolves through upcoming phases.

  • Position Level: 6+ years
  • Location: Remote
  • Shift Timing: Normal (Day Shift)
  • Role Type: Techno-Functional

Key ResponsibilitiesDatabase Management & Automation

  • Implement automated database provisioning, patching, backup/recovery, and upgrades using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Manage routine database administration, with a heavy emphasis on designing and executing complex replication setups in cloud environments.
  • Enable deep observability by implementing proactive monitoring, performance tuning, capacity planning, and rapid incident response aligned with SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) principles.

Cloud Migration & Strategy

  • Lead and support database migrations across multi-cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid environments.
  • Collaborate closely with Application, DevOps, and Platform teams to enforce strict data governance, robust Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies, and infrastructure cost optimization.
  • Prepare database architectures to scale for upcoming project phases involving heavy throughput requirements.

Job RequirementsCore & Required Experience (Priority 1)

  • Deep MySQL DBA Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience managing, tuning, and troubleshooting production MySQL instances at scale.
  • Cloud Architecture & Replication: Proven track record setting up database replication, clusters, and high-availability frameworks across major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Migration Experience: Demonstrated experience executing live or near-zero-downtime database migrations into or across cloud platforms.
  • Automation Mindset: Experience working alongside DevOps pipelines, leveraging CI/CD tools, and treating database infrastructure as code.

Highly Valued Capabilities (Priority 2)

  • MongoDB Expertise: Production-level experience or strong working knowledge of MongoDB architecture, clustering, and performance optimization.
  • Polyglot Database Mindset: A strong willingness and capability to learn, adapt to, and support a mixed database environment. Experience with PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB, or Cassandra is a massive advantage.

Pay: ₹100,000.00 - ₹2,600,000.00 per year
