AutoCAD Drafter – Timber Residentials (U.S.)Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented AutoCAD Drafter to support the design and documentation of timber-framed residential projects across the United States. The ideal candidate will translate structural and architectural concepts into precise drawings, ensuring compliance with U.S. residential building codes and timber construction standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare 2D AutoCAD drawings for timber residential structures, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and details.
• Develop shop drawings and dimension control logs for framing, walls, slabs, and connections.
• Collaborate with structural engineers and architects to ensure accuracy and constructability.
• Maintain QA/QC checklists and update drawings based on redlines, markups, and field feedback.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. residential codes (IBC, IRC) and timber design standards.
• Organize and manage drawing files, revisions, and project documentation.
• Support junior team members with clear, visual drafting guides and manuals.

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Drafting Technology.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D drafting); knowledge of Revit or other BIM tools is a plus.
• Familiarity with timber construction methods and U.S. residential building practices.
• Strong attention to detail, dimension accuracy, and drafting standards.
• Ability to interpret structural drawings and translate them into clear drafting outputs.
• Good communication skills for coordination with engineers, architects, and project managers.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with U.S. residential projects (timber framing, load-bearing walls, roof trusses).
• Knowledge of basic structural load concepts.
• Exposure to QA/QC processes and drafting checklists.
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment and adapt to project-based workflows.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contractual / Temporary
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month

Expected hours: 48 per week
