IT Consultant – Team Lead(Thane | Part Time)

Two offices, one person accountable for both staying up

Right now IT support means someone individually firefighting whatever breaks, wherever it breaks. That doesn't scale across two locations. This role fixes that — you own IT for both the Thane and Surat offices and lead a two-person team to execute it, on a part-time footing that fits someone who doesn't want or need a full-time seat.

You won't be doing every ticket yourself. You'll be deciding what your team handles day to day, what you step in for personally, and what gets escalated to a vendor — checking in with enough regularity that nothing falls through the cracks between two locations, without this needing to be a 9-to-6 commitment.

What you'll do

Own IT across both offices — Set the standard for hardware, network and software support at Thane and Surat, and make sure it's consistent — not "better support at whichever office you happen to be sitting in that day."

Lead a two-person team — Assign work, set priorities, review ticket resolution quality, and coach your team on both technical skill and how they communicate with non-technical staff. You're accountable for their output.

Manage escalations personally — Take on the issues your team can't close — deeper network problems, vendor escalations, security incidents, infrastructure decisions.

Plan the infrastructure — Network architecture, Wi-Fi coverage, server/cloud setup if applicable, backup and disaster recovery basics, for both locations. Think ahead of the next breakage, not just react to it.

Own vendor and asset management — AMC contracts, ISP relationships, hardware procurement and lifecycle, license management, across both offices' inventories.

Set security baseline — Patch management, antivirus, access control, and basic data-security hygiene appropriate for a company handling US client data.

Report to leadership — Monthly view of open issues, recurring problems, asset status and spend across both offices — a clear picture leadership can act on, not a ticket count.

Be reachable through the evening window — Our sales team runs US-aligned hours. Make sure a technical issue during that window doesn't sit unresolved because nobody senior was reachable.

What we're looking for

• 4–8 years in IT support/infrastructure, with at least 1–2 years leading or mentoring other IT staff.
• Strong hands-on fundamentals — Windows, basic networking (DHCP, DNS, routing, Wi-Fi troubleshooting), common office and security software — plus the judgment to know when to delegate vs. handle it yourself.
• Experience supporting more than one office or location, or a clear ability to explain how you'd structure that.
• Comfortable managing vendors and negotiating AMC/procurement terms.
• Able to communicate clearly with both your team and non-technical leadership.
• Willing to travel between Thane and Mumbai regularly, and to be reachable during the evening overlap window, within an agreed part-time schedule.
• Comfortable with a part-time, non-traditional engagement rather than a fixed full-time role — this suits someone balancing this with other work or a consulting practice.

Bonus points for: experience supporting a BPO/KPO or sales-floor environment · IT certifications (CompTIA Network+/Security+, ITIL, or similar) · basic scripting/automation experience · prior experience with a company serving US clients or handling US-facing data security expectations
