About the Role

We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented, and experienced Fashion Designer with strong expertise in product development to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of fashion trends, garment construction, fabrics, trims, fit, and costing, with the ability to take a product from concept to final production.

Experience in innerwear, lingerie, women's apparel, maternity wear, or intimate wear will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

1. Fashion Design and Trend Research

• Research current fashion trends, silhouettes, colours, fabrics, prints, and market developments.
• Develop creative design concepts, mood boards, colour palettes, and seasonal collections.
• Create design sketches, technical drawings, and detailed product presentations.
• Develop designs in line with brand identity, customer requirements, and target pricing.

2. Product Development

• Manage the complete product development process, from concept development to final sample approval.
• Prepare detailed tech packs, including measurements, construction details, fabric specifications, trims, stitching details, and finishing requirements.
• Coordinate with pattern masters, sampling teams, merchandisers, and production teams to develop samples.
• Review prototypes and samples, provide fit and construction feedback, and ensure timely corrections.
• Conduct fit sessions and ensure products meet the required fit, comfort, quality, and design standards.
• Maintain sample records, measurement charts, and product development trackers.

3. Fabric and Trims Development

• Identify suitable fabrics, elastics, laces, hooks and eyes, labels, accessories, and other trims.
• Work with sourcing teams and suppliers to develop new materials, colours, prints, and finishes.
• Evaluate fabric quality, GSM, composition, stretch and recovery, shrinkage, and suitability for the intended product.
• Coordinate lab dips, strike-offs, fabric testing, and approvals.

4. Costing and Commercial Coordination

• Work closely with the sourcing and merchandising teams to develop products within target costs.
• Prepare preliminary product costing based on fabric consumption, trims, accessories, and manufacturing requirements.
• Identify opportunities to optimise material usage and improve product value without compromising quality.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to meet development timelines and target prices.

5. Sampling and Production Handover

• Monitor sampling timelines and follow up on pending developments.
• Ensure approved samples, tech packs, and specifications are properly documented before production handover.
• Resolve design, fit, construction, and material-related issues in coordination with the relevant teams.
• Support quality checks and ensure consistency between approved samples and bulk production.

6. Cross-functional Coordination

• Collaborate with sourcing, merchandising, quality, production, and marketing teams.
• Support the preparation of product catalogues, product presentations, and design references.
• Coordinate with the marketing team to provide accurate product details and visual references for catalogue development.
• Maintain development schedules and provide regular status updates to management.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, Textile Design, or a related field.
• 8–10 years of relevant experience in fashion design and apparel product development.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, patterns, measurements, fit, fabrics, and trims.
• Experience in tech pack preparation, sample development, and product costing.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; knowledge of CorelDRAW or CAD tools is an advantage.
• Good understanding of garment manufacturing processes and quality standards.
• Strong vendor coordination, communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple product developments and meet deadlines.

Experience in one or more of the following categories will be preferred:

• Women's innerwear and lingerie
• Bras, panties, period underwear, and shapewear
• Maternity and nursing wear
• Women's casualwear, loungewear, and sleepwear
• Stretch fabrics, knitted garments, and performance apparel
