Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Quality Control Head with strong experience in the food and frozen food industry to lead the complete Quality Control and Quality Assurance function across the plant. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining food safety, product quality, regulatory compliance, and quality systems from raw material receiving to final product dispatch.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the complete QC/QA function of the plant.
Develop and implement quality standards, SOPs, specifications, and quality procedures.
Control quality at every stage: Raw Material → Production → Processing → Frozen Storage → Packing → Finished Goods → Dispatch.
Ensure compliance with FSSAI, HACCP, GMP, GHP, FSMS, and other applicable food safety requirements.
Strong experience in frozen food quality control, including freezing processes, cold-chain management, storage temperature, thawing control, and product handling.
Monitor and approve raw materials, packaging materials, in-process products, and finished products.
Establish and monitor CCP/OPRP, critical limits, quality parameters, and corrective actions.
Handle microbiological, chemical, physical, and sensory quality testing.
Manage laboratory operations, testing procedures, calibration, and documentation.
Investigate customer complaints, product deviations, non-conformities, and quality failures and implement CAPA.
Conduct internal quality audits and support customer, statutory, certification, and third-party audits.
Coordinate closely with Production, R&D, Purchase, Stores, Maintenance, and Dispatch teams.
Train employees on food safety, hygiene, GMP, quality procedures, and SOPs.
Monitor plant hygiene, personal hygiene, pest control, sanitation, and environmental conditions.
Ensure proper documentation and traceability of raw materials, batches, production, testing, and finished goods.
Review and approve product specifications, COA, inspection reports, and quality records.
Drive continuous improvement in quality, food safety, process control, and rejection reduction.
Guide the plant team on quality-related decisions and take ownership of overall plant quality performance.
Ensure the plant is always audit-ready and compliant with company quality standards.

Required Experience & Skills

8–15 years of experience in Quality Control/Quality Assurance in the Food/Frozen Food/Food Processing industry.
Mandatory or strongly preferred experience in Frozen Food / Cold Chain operations.
Experience in independently handling plant-level QC/QA operations.
Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, GHP, FSMS, FSSAI, CAPA, CCP/OPRP, SOPs, and food safety systems.
Experience in handling food microbiology, laboratory testing, sensory evaluation, and quality parameters.
Strong knowledge of frozen food processing, freezing, cold storage, temperature monitoring, and cold-chain controls.
Experience in managing and developing a QC/QA team.
Strong audit-handling and documentation skills.
Good communication, leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Education

B.Tech / B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, Dairy Technology, or a relevant field.

Key Objective

The selected candidate will be responsible for end-to-end quality and food safety of the complete plant and will act as the key quality leader between Management, Production, R&D, Purchase, Stores, and other departments to ensure consistent, safe, and compliant food products.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
