Job Summary
The Food Quality Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all food products meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards. This role oversees quality inspections, monitors production processes, implements food safety systems, and leads the quality team to maintain consistent product quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily quality control activities during food production.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards such as HACCP, GMP, FSSAI, ISO 22000, and company policies.
- Conduct routine inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
- Monitor hygiene and sanitation practices across production areas.
- Investigate quality issues, customer complaints, and non-conformities, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Maintain quality documentation, inspection records, and audit reports.
- Coordinate internal and external quality audits.
- Train production staff on food safety, hygiene, and quality procedures.
- Work closely with Production, Procurement, and R&D teams to improve product quality.
- Ensure calibration and maintenance of quality testing equipment.
- Monitor product specifications and ensure compliance with customer requirements.
- Analyze quality data and prepare periodic quality performance reports.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, Dairy Technology, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in food quality assurance or quality control.
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, BRCGS, and FSSAI regulations.
- Experience with laboratory testing and quality inspection procedures.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of food safety and quality management systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Leadership and team management abilities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to prepare reports and maintain accurate documentation.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
