Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced BI & Analytics Lead to build and lead the BI Engineering team in Chennai as part of a global Data & AI organization. This role is responsible for driving the organization's Business Intelligence and Analytics capability by enabling business users to effectively consume trusted Data Products through standardized dashboards, reports, and self-service analytics solutions.

You will focus on transforming curated Data Products into intuitive, reliable, and business-friendly analytical experiences. This role combines strong expertise in BI platforms, dashboard design, data visualization, analytics enablement, and governance with leadership and delivery ownership.

As the BI & Analytics Lead, you will define enterprise standards, processes, governance models, and best practices for designing, developing, operating, and consuming BI solutions. A key responsibility will be modernizing the existing BI landscape by shaping future BI architecture, implementing governance frameworks, establishing role and permission concepts, and transitioning to a scalable, domain-oriented BI environment.

You will lead a team of BI Engineers, providing shared services for the development, maintenance, and support of enterprise dashboards and reporting solutions while partnering closely with Data Product Management, Data Engineering, Platform teams, and business stakeholders.

Key ResponsibilitiesBI & Analytics Capability Ownership

  • Own and drive the organization's BI & Analytics capability, enabling trusted Data Products to be consumed through dashboards, reports, and self-service analytics.
  • Define and shape the future BI architecture from an analytics consumption perspective.
  • Establish enterprise standards for dashboard design, data visualization, usability, documentation, performance, and lifecycle management.
  • Develop governance frameworks covering BI applications, ownership, access control, permissions, support models, and domain-oriented application structures.
  • Lead the modernization of the BI landscape by reducing fragmented reporting solutions and creating a scalable, governed BI environment.

BI Delivery & Shared Services

  • Lead the design, development, deployment, support, and continuous improvement of standardized dashboards and reporting solutions.
  • Develop BI solutions based on approved Data Products and business requirements.
  • Translate business and analytics requirements into clear technical delivery plans, including scope, priorities, dependencies, acceptance criteria, and deployment readiness.
  • Ensure BI solutions are business-friendly, reliable, high-performing, and aligned with enterprise standards.
  • Guide business stakeholders on effective visualization, reporting, and analytical consumption of information.

Team Leadership

  • Build, lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing BI Engineering team.
  • Manage capacity planning, work allocation, prioritization, and delivery schedules.
  • Drive delivery excellence by ensuring adherence to quality standards, usability principles, technical reliability, and supportability.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, collaboration, transparency, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Coach team members and promote technical growth and best practices.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Data Product Management, Data Engineering, Platform teams, and business stakeholders to deliver business-focused BI solutions.
  • Ensure alignment between BI initiatives, Data Products, business priorities, and enterprise standards.
  • Support the adoption of self-service analytics through enablement, training, and user engagement initiatives.

Required Technical SkillsMandatory

  • 10–12 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, Data Visualization, Reporting, or related domains.
  • Proven experience in building, leading, and developing BI, Analytics, or Data teams in global environments.
  • Strong expertise in modern BI platforms, with hands-on experience in:
  • Qlik Sense (preferred)
  • Qlik Cloud
  • Power BI
  • Comparable enterprise BI platforms
  • Experience defining BI governance, standards, application lifecycle management, security models, roles, and permissions.
  • Strong expertise in dashboard design, data visualization, analytics user experience (UX), and data storytelling.
  • Experience modernizing enterprise BI landscapes and implementing scalable reporting architectures.
  • Strong delivery management skills with experience managing priorities, dependencies, quality, and timelines.
  • Experience working with global and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and execution capabilities.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience enabling self-service analytics and building analytics communities.
  • Experience conducting user training, knowledge sharing, and adoption programs.
  • Understanding of modern Data & AI ecosystems and Data Product concepts.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and product-based operating models.
