Job Title: Hospital Administrator – Operations & NABH Compliance

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Hospital Administrator to manage the day-to-day operations of a multi-speciality hospital with fewer than 50 beds.

The ideal candidate should have practical experience in hospital administration and be capable of independently managing hospital staff, patient-related issues, government/insurance documentation, statutory compliance and NABH standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day administration and operations of the hospital.
  • Supervise and coordinate nursing, reception, billing, housekeeping, security and other hospital staff.
  • Maintain staff discipline, attendance, duty allocation and smooth coordination between departments.
  • Handle and resolve patient and attendant complaints professionally and promptly.
  • Monitor patient flow and ensure a good overall patient experience.
  • Manage and supervise Ayushman Bharat / PM-JAY related processes, documentation, approvals and claims.
  • Coordinate and manage TPA, insurance and cashless claim processes, including documentation and follow-ups.
  • Handle correspondence, documentation and compliance work relating to the CMO office and other government/local health authorities.
  • Maintain and follow up on hospital licences, registrations, renewals, NOCs and statutory documentation.
  • Ensure that all required documentation and records are maintained and readily available for inspections.
  • Ensure the hospital remains NABH compliant at all times and operates according to applicable NABH standards and protocols.
  • Monitor implementation of NABH policies, SOPs, documentation, quality indicators, audits and corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular internal checks to identify NABH or operational deficiencies and ensure they are corrected.
  • Train and guide hospital staff regarding NABH procedures, patient safety, documentation and hospital protocols.
  • Coordinate with doctors, management, nursing staff and other departments to ensure smooth hospital operations.
  • Assist management in improving hospital processes, service quality, efficiency and patient satisfaction.
  • Be prepared to take responsibility and resolve operational problems as they arise.

Candidate Requirements

  • Prior experience in hospital administration/operations is essential.
  • Preferably 3–5+ years of relevant experience in a hospital.
  • Experience working in a small or mid-sized hospital will be preferred.
  • Practical knowledge of NABH standards and hospital accreditation/compliance is highly preferred.
  • Experience with Ayushman Bharat, TPA/insurance and hospital claims.
  • Familiarity with CMO office procedures, hospital licences, NOCs and statutory documentation.
  • Strong staff-management and leadership abilities.
  • Good communication and patient-handling skills.
  • Ability to independently identify and solve day-to-day operational problems.
  • Good organisational and documentation skills.
  • BHA / MHA / MBA in Hospital or Healthcare Management, or a similar qualification, is preferred. Relevant practical experience may also be considered.

What We Are Looking For

This is a hands-on role. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of hospital operations and ensures that standards are followed in practice — not merely on paper.

The administrator should be comfortable working closely with hospital management while independently handling routine administrative, compliance, staff and patient-related matters.
