Freelance Japanese - English Translator (Written Translation Only, On-Demand) About the Opportunity

Datasabai is seeking a Freelance Japanese - English Translator to support occasional translation needs for projects in the fields of Supply Chain, Logistics, and Information Technology (IT).

This role is focused Mainly on written translation. Candidates who specialize in translation and do not offer interpretation services are welcome and encouraged to apply. Interpretation capabilities may be considered a plus but are not mandatory.

This is a freelance, on-demand engagement, not a full-time or part-time position. Assignments will be offered based on business needs, and there is no guaranteed workload, minimum number of hours, or monthly income.

Responsibilities

• Translate documents and written communications from Japanese to English.
• Ensure translations are accurate, clear, and appropriate for a business and technical audience.
• Translate materials related to:
• Supply Chain Management
• Logistics and Transportation
• Warehouse Operations
• IT Systems and Software Solutions
• Business Process Documentation
• User Manuals and Training Materials
• Meeting Notes, Reports, and Professional Correspondence
• Maintain consistency of terminology across projects.
• Respect confidentiality requirements and handle information professionally.
• Deliver translations within agreed timelines.

Required Qualifications

• Professional proficiency in Japanese and English.
• Proven experience in Japanese-to-English translation.
• Excellent written communication skills in English.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and meet agreed deadlines.
• Familiarity with terminology used in Supply Chain, Logistics, and/or IT environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience translating technical, operational, or business documentation.
• Familiarity with ERP, WMS, TMS, or other enterprise software solutions.
• Japanese-English interpretation skills are a plus, but not required.
