R&D Engineer – Battery & Motor Systems

Education & QualificationsMandatory:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in Electric Vehicle (EV) battery systems, motor systems, or EV product development.

Preferred:

• MBA in Marketing, Product Management, or a related field.
• Certification or specialized training in Electric Vehicle Technology, Battery Management Systems (BMS), or Motor Control Systems.

Job Summary

Nexzu Mobility is seeking a passionate and innovative R&D Engineer to support the design, development, testing, and optimization of electric vehicle battery and motor systems. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in EV technologies, including battery packs, BMS, electric motors, and vehicle integration. Candidates with an understanding of market trends, product positioning, and customer requirements will be preferred.

Key ResponsibilitiesBattery System Development

• Design and develop battery pack architectures, module layouts, and battery integration systems.
• Evaluate and select battery cells and components based on performance, safety, and cost requirements.
• Support Battery Management System (BMS) development, testing, and validation.

Motor & Powertrain Development

• Assist in the design, testing, and optimization of BLDC, PMSM, or hub motor systems used in electric vehicles.
• Analyze motor performance, efficiency, thermal behavior, and reliability.
• Collaborate with controllers and power electronics teams for system integration.

Testing & Validation

• Develop prototypes and conduct performance, durability, thermal, and safety testing.
• Analyze test results and recommend design improvements.
• Troubleshoot battery and motor-related issues during development and production stages.

Research & Innovation

• Stay updated on advancements in battery chemistry, motor technologies, charging systems, and EV regulations.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions for product enhancement.

Product & Market Understanding

• Support product development by understanding customer requirements and market trends.
• Work with sales and marketing teams to translate market feedback into technical improvements.
• Contribute to product positioning and feature enhancement discussions.

Documentation & Compliance

• Prepare technical reports, testing documentation, design records, and validation reports.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Coordinate with design, manufacturing, procurement, quality, and supplier teams.
• Support production and field teams in resolving technical issues related to battery and motor systems.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of EV battery systems, BMS, and battery testing.
• Knowledge of electric motors, motor controllers, and powertrain systems.
• Experience with electrical schematics, testing equipment, and data analysis.
• Understanding of EV safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
• Project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Awareness of EV market trends and customer expectations.
• Ability to learn and adapt in a fast-evolving EV environment.
