AutomationEdge is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Home Health Medical Coder with strong knowledge of U.S. Home Health processes, ICD-10 coding, and Revenue Cycle Management (RCM). The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience reviewing clinical documentation, assigning accurate diagnosis codes, and ensuring compliance with CMS and Home Health coding guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Review and accurately classify Home Health clinical documentation, including:
Face-to-Face (F2F) encounters, Plans of Care (POC), Visit Notes, Face Sheets, Discharge Summaries, Physician Orders, OASIS Assessments
Assign and sequence ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes in accordance with Home Health coding guidelines and CMS regulations.
Validate documentation completeness, coding accuracy, and compliance requirements before submission.
Review clinical records to ensure coding readiness and support accurate reimbursement.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of Home Health documentation standards, coding regulations, and quality requirements.
Collaborate effectively with clinical, operations, and billing teams to resolve coding and documentation-related queries.
Maintain established productivity, quality, and accuracy benchmarks.
Stay updated with changes in Home Health coding guidelines, CMS regulations, and industry best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have Skills
Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in Home Health Coding.
Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM coding for Home Health services.
Experience working with Plans of Care (POC) and Home Health clinical documentation.
Good understanding of the U.S. Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) process.
Working knowledge of OASIS assessments and Home Health documentation requirements.
Experience reviewing physician orders, visit notes, F2F documentation, and discharge summaries.
Familiarity with CMS Home Health regulations and compliance standards.
Experience working with multiple EMR/EHR systems in a Home Health environment.
Soft Skills
Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
