This is a remote position.

The General Physician/Doctor will provide safe, patient-centered primary healthcare consultations through the telemedicine pathway. The physician will assess patient concerns, provide clinical advice, prescribe treatment when appropriate, identify red flags, and facilitate referrals to appropriate specialists or healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Teleconsultation

• Conduct Teleconsultation through the booked by Arogyapath 2.0 WhatsApp pathway.
  
  

• Review patient registration details, symptoms, medical history, and available clinical information before or during consultation.
  
  

• Assess patients appropriately within the scope and limitations of telemedicine.
  
  

• Communicate clearly and empathically with patients.
  
  

• Ask relevant clinical questions and provide appropriate medical advice.
  
  

• Maintain professional standards throughout every consultation.
  
  

2. Clinical Assessment & Management

• Diagnose and manage common medical conditions within the physician's scope of practice.
  
  

• Review available vital signs, reports, images, and other relevant information shared by the patient.
  
  

• Prescribe medicines, investigations, or other treatment when clinically appropriate and legally permissible.
  
  

• Provide clear instructions regarding medication, dosage, duration, precautions/advice, and follow-up.
  
  

• Educate patients regarding preventive healthcare and healthy practices.
  
  

3. Identification of Red Flags & Emergency Escalation

• Identify symptoms requiring urgent or emergency medical attention.
  
  

• Immediately advise appropriate emergency care or hospital referral when required.
  
  

• Ensure patients understand when and where to seek further care.
  
  

• Avoid managing cases remotely when an in-person examination is clinically necessary.
  
  

4. Referral & Specialist Coordination

• Refer patients to appropriate specialists based on clinical assessment.
  
  

• Provide appropriate referral advice and follow-up recommendations.
  
  

5. Clinical Documentation

• Maintain accurate and complete electronic consultation records.
  
  

• Document presenting complaints, relevant history, assessment, diagnosis, treatment/advice, investigations, referrals, and follow-up.
  
  

• Ensure prescriptions and clinical notes are complete and legible.
  
  

• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with applicable data-protection requirements.
  
  

6. Patient Follow-up

• Recommend appropriate follow-up timelines.
  
  

• Review follow-up cases when assigned.
  
  

• Monitor patients requiring continued care or referral.
  
  

• Escalate cases where the patient's condition is worsening or additional clinical evaluation is required.
  
  

Quality & Compliance Responsibilities

• Follow Arogyapath 2.0 clinical protocols, SOPs, and telemedicine guidelines.
  
  

• Practice within the physician's professional scope and applicable regulatory requirements.
  
  

• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
  
  

• Follow appropriate prescription and documentation standards.
  
  

• Participate in clinical audits, quality reviews, and case discussions.
  
  

• Report clinical, technical, or patient-safety incidents through the defined escalation mechanism.
  
  

• Support continuous improvement of the WhatsApp consultation pathway.
  
  

Requirements

Educational Qualifications

• MBBS from a recognized medical institution.
  
  

• Valid medical registration with the applicable medical council/authority.
  
  

Experience

• 1-5 years experience in General Practice / Primary Care preferred.
  
  

• Previous experience in telemedicine or digital healthcare will be an advantage.
  
  

• Experience handling patients through digital healthcare platforms is preferred.
