About the Role

Smile Loft is looking for an experienced and result-oriented Team Lead – Accounts Receivable (AR) to lead our Dental RCM team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in US Dental Accounts Receivable, strong leadership capabilities, and excellent communication skills. This role requires someone who can effectively manage a team, drive collections, resolve complex claim issues, and ensure operational excellence while working in a fully remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Dental AR team to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly productivity targets.
• Monitor team performance through KPIs, quality audits, and productivity reports.
• Handle complex claim denials, appeals, underpayments, aging accounts, and escalations.
• Ensure timely follow-up with insurance carriers for outstanding claims.
• Analyze AR reports to identify trends and implement action plans to improve collections.
• Conduct regular team huddles, coaching sessions, and performance reviews.
• Train, mentor, and support team members to improve process knowledge and efficiency.
• Collaborate with Operations, Billing, Credentialing, and Client Success teams to resolve account issues.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, payer guidelines, and company SOPs.
• Prepare operational reports and provide regular updates to management.
• Drive process improvements and implement best practices to enhance team performance.
• Maintain high standards of customer service and professional communication with insurance representatives and clients.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in US Dental Revenue Cycle Management, with significant expertise in Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Prior experience leading or supervising an AR team is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of:

• Claim Follow-up
• Appeals & Denial Management
• Aging Analysis
• Payment Posting concepts
• Insurance Portals
• Coordination of Benefits (COB)
• PPO, HMO, Medicaid, and Commercial Dental Plans
• Experience working with dental practice management software such as Dentrix, Open Dental, Eaglesoft, CareStack, or SoftDent.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Outstanding verbal and written English communication skills.
• Strong leadership, people management, and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced remote environment.

Preferred Skills

• Proven experience in team handling, coaching, and performance management.
• Strong reporting skills using Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, dashboards, and data analysis).
• Ability to identify process gaps and implement continuous improvements.
• Self-motivated with excellent organizational and time management skills.
