Job Description:
Manipal Hospitals is seeking a skilled and dedicated OT Technician to join our surgical team. The primary responsibility of the OT Technician is to assist in delivering quality patient care during surgical procedures. The individual will work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other medical staff to ensure the operating room is properly set up, maintained, and that all necessary equipment and supplies are available. The OT Technician will also be responsible for preparing patients for surgery, monitoring their vital signs, and maintaining a sterile environment throughout the procedure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare the operating room by ensuring all necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies are sterile and readily available.
• Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies as needed.
• Monitor patient vital signs and comfort during surgery, reporting any changes to the surgical team.
• Maintain a clean and sterile environment in the operating room, following all infection control protocols.
• Handle and dispose of surgical waste according to hospital policies.
• Assist in the post-operative care of patients, ensuring they are transferred safely and comfortably.
• Participate in maintaining inventory and ordering supplies as necessary.
• Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Skills and Tools Required:

• Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and their uses.
• Proficiency in maintaining a sterile environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Basic life support (BLS) certification is preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic health records and hospital information systems.
• Previous experience in a surgical setting or completion of a relevant training program is preferred.
