Job Description:
The Associate Medical Technologist (MT) at Manipal Hospitals will be responsible for performing various laboratory tests and analyses to assist in diagnosing and treating patients. The role involves working with a team of medical professionals to ensure accurate and timely results that contribute to patient care. Key responsibilities include preparing samples, conducting tests, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring compliance with quality control standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests under the supervision of senior technologists.
• Prepare, label, and analyze biological specimens, ensuring all samples are properly documented.
• Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshooting any issues as they arise.
• Adhere to safety and quality control protocols to ensure accurate test results.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to discuss test outcomes and implications for patient care.
• Assist in the training and mentoring of new staff and interns in laboratory procedures.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in medical technology and laboratory practices.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor?s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field.
• Certification as a Medical Technologist (e.g., AMT, ASCP) is preferred.
• Knowledge of laboratory procedures, equipment, and safety protocols.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficient in the use of laboratory information systems and relevant software tools.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Tools and Equipment:

• Laboratory analyzers (e.g., hematology, biochemistry, microbiology equipment)
• Personal protective equipment (PPE)
