Job Description
Mamta Medical College & Hospital (MMCH), Siwan is looking for a skilled and dedicated Lab Technician (Pathology) to join our team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in performing routine and specialized laboratory investigations, handling laboratory equipment, and maintaining quality standards while ensuring accurate and timely reporting of test results.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, label, process, and prepare patient samples for laboratory testing.
- Perform routine hematology, biochemistry, clinical pathology, serology, and microbiology investigations.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and analyzers.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of laboratory results.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), NABL/NABH guidelines, and infection control protocols.
- Maintain laboratory records, registers, and documentation accurately.
- Ensure proper storage and disposal of specimens and biomedical waste as per regulations.
- Assist pathologists and clinicians with sample processing and special investigations when required.
- Monitor reagent inventory and report shortages in a timely manner.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and quality standards within the laboratory.
Required Technical Skills
- Sample collection (venous blood, urine, sputum, stool, and other clinical specimens)
- Hematology testing (CBC, ESR, peripheral smear preparation)
- Biochemistry analyzer operation
- Clinical pathology and urine analysis
- Serology and immunology testing
- Basic microbiology sample processing
- Quality control procedures and laboratory documentation
- Equipment calibration and preventive maintenance
- Biomedical waste management and infection control
- Computer-based laboratory reporting (LIS preferred)
Eligibility
- DMLT / BMLT (Mandatory)
- Registration with the appropriate authority, if applicable
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in a hospital or diagnostic laboratory (Preferred)
- Knowledge of NABL/NABH standards will be an added advantage
- Willingness to work rotational shifts
- Good communication, attention to detail, and teamwork skills
