Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate and research-driven Scientist – Medical Textiles to lead the development of innovative textile-based solutions for healthcare, biomedical, and hygiene applications. The role focuses on designing, testing, and commercializing advanced medical textile products that improve patient care, infection control, wound management, and healthcare sustainability.

The ideal candidate should possess expertise in textile engineering, biomaterials, nonwoven technologies, medical device development, and healthcare product innovation.

Key ResponsibilitiesResearch & Development

• Design and develop advanced medical textile products for healthcare and biomedical applications.
• Research and develop innovative materials for:
• Surgical textiles
• Wound care products
• Antimicrobial fabrics
• Implantable textiles
• Healthcare hygiene products
• Smart medical wearables
• Develop biodegradable and sustainable medical textile solutions.
• Investigate novel fibers, coatings, and fabric structures to enhance product performance.
• Conduct laboratory and pilot-scale product development activities.

Product Design & Material Innovation

• Develop and optimize:
• Surgical gowns and drapes
• Face masks and respirators
• Wound dressings
• Compression garments
• Hospital bedding and protective textiles
• Implantable meshes and scaffolds
• Smart textile-based monitoring systems
• Improve comfort, durability, breathability, barrier protection, and antimicrobial performance.

Testing & Characterization

• Conduct physical, chemical, and biological evaluation of medical textiles.
• Perform testing related to:
• Biocompatibility
• Antimicrobial efficacy
• Fluid resistance
• Filtration efficiency
• Tensile and mechanical properties
• Moisture management
• Sterilization compatibility
• Analyze test data and prepare technical reports.

Regulatory & Quality Compliance

• Ensure products meet applicable healthcare and medical standards.
• Support compliance with:
• ISO 13485
• ISO 10993
• ASTM Standards
• BIS Standards
• FDA and CE requirements where applicable
• Maintain accurate documentation for regulatory submissions and audits.

Innovation & Technology Transfer

• Identify emerging technologies in medical textiles and healthcare materials.
• Prepare scientific publications, patents, technical reports, and grant proposals.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, hospitals, research institutions, and manufacturing teams.
• Support scale-up, pilot production, and commercialization activities.

Experience

• 2–8 years of experience in medical textiles, technical textiles, biomedical materials, or healthcare product development.
• Experience in industrial R&D, research laboratories, medical device companies, or academic research is preferred.
• Exceptional fresh Ph.D. candidates may also apply.

Compensation

Competitive salary based on qualifications, experience, research publications, patents, and product development achievements.

Pay: ₹302,184.47 - ₹1,156,118.16 per year
