1. Job Purpose

To provide safe, ethical, and quality medical care to patients, including patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and appropriate referral while maintaining proper medical records and following hospital policies and applicable medical standards.

2. Key Roles & Responsibilities

Examine patients and obtain relevant medical history and clinical information.
Assess, diagnose, and treat patients according to their medical condition.
Prescribe medicines, investigations, and treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
Monitor patients' progress and modify treatment whenever required.
Provide appropriate emergency medical care within the scope of practice.
Refer patients to specialists or higher medical facilities whenever necessary.
Review and interpret relevant laboratory and diagnostic reports.
Maintain accurate, complete, and timely patient medical records.
Prepare clinical notes, prescriptions, discharge summaries, referral notes, and other required documentation.
Explain diagnosis, treatment options, precautions, and follow-up requirements to patients and attendants.
Obtain appropriate consent wherever required.
Coordinate with nurses, technicians, specialists, pharmacists, and other hospital departments for patient care.
Participate in rounds, case discussions, clinical meetings, and hospital quality-improvement activities as required.
Follow hospital SOPs, infection-control practices, patient-safety protocols, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Maintain patient confidentiality and protect medical information.
Report adverse events, medical incidents, and other significant clinical matters to the appropriate authority.
Ensure rational and appropriate use of medicines, investigations, and hospital resources.
Maintain professional and respectful conduct with patients, attendants, and hospital staff.
Attend duties, shifts, on-call responsibilities, and emergency duties as assigned.
Perform any other clinical responsibilities assigned by the Medical Superintendent / authorized management representative.

3. Qualification & Eligibility

MBBS/BAMS/BUMS from a recognized medical institution.
Valid registration with the applicable State Medical Council / National Medical Commission, as applicable.
Additional postgraduate qualification will be preferred for specialist positions.
Relevant hospital/clinical experience will be an advantage.

The Doctor shall maintain professional ethics, patient confidentiality, appropriate clinical documentation, and standards of patient care and shall comply with applicable laws, professional regulations, hospital policies, SOPs, and code of conduct.
