About 90% of this role is live documentation. You will be connected to an iPad in the provider’s exam room, listen to patient–provider conversations as they happen, and turn them into clear, accurate clinical notes. You will then assign the correct codes so each visit is ready for billing.

Key Responsibilities

• Stay connected on live calls with the podiatry clinic through the in-room iPad for the full shift
• Listen to and transcribe patient encounters accurately in real time, including chief complaint, HPI, exam findings, assessment and plan
• Enter documentation into the clinic’s EHR system [e.g., ModMed EMA / eClinicalWorks / Athena] following the provider’s preferred note style
• Assign accurate CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS codes and modifiers for each encounter
• Code common podiatry services, such as E/M visits, nail debridement, callus/corn paring, wound care, injections, minor procedures, DME and orthotics
• Apply payer rules correctly, including Medicare routine foot care requirements and class findings (Q7–Q9 modifiers)
• Flag missing or unclear documentation to the provider for clarification
• Keep all patient information fully confidential in line with HIPAA requirements

Requirements

• 1–2+ years of experience in medical scribing, medical transcription or medical coding (US healthcare)
• Strong command of English with excellent listening skills, including comfort with different US accents
• Solid knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy (especially lower extremity) and clinical documentation
• Working knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS and modifiers
• Typing speed of 50+ WPM with high accuracy
• Ability to stay focused on live audio for long periods
• Good understanding of HIPAA and patient privacy
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a medical or life sciences field

Preferred

• Podiatry or orthopedic specialty experience
• CPC, CCS or equivalent coding certification (or currently pursuing one)
• Hands-on experience with podiatry EHRs such as ModMed EMA
• Experience as a virtual/remote scribe

• Reliable high-speed internet with a backup connection
• UPS or other power backup to avoid disconnections during live sessions

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
