Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Legal & Compliance Specialist with strong knowledge of US healthcare laws, regulations, and compliance standards. The ideal candidate will ensure organizational compliance with federal and state healthcare regulations, review legal documents, manage regulatory risks, and support business operations while maintaining the highest standards of legal and ethical compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with US healthcare laws and regulations, including HIPAA, HITECH, CMS, Medicare, Medicaid, and state-specific healthcare requirements.
  • Monitor changes in healthcare laws and advise management on regulatory updates.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and manage legal agreements, contracts, NDAs, Business Associate Agreements (BAAs), and vendor agreements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain healthcare compliance policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Conduct internal compliance audits and risk assessments.
  • Support HIPAA Privacy and Security compliance initiatives.
  • Investigate compliance concerns and recommend corrective actions.
  • Work closely with operations, HR, finance, and leadership to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Assist with licensing, credentialing, accreditation, and regulatory filings.
  • Provide compliance training and awareness programs for employees.
  • Maintain compliance documentation and prepare reports for leadership.
  • Coordinate with external legal counsel when required.
  • Support due diligence for partnerships, mergers, and client onboarding.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB/JD) or a related legal discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in US Healthcare Legal & Compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • HIPAA
  • HITECH Act
  • Stark Law
  • Anti-Kickback Statute
  • False Claims Act
  • CMS Regulations
  • Medicare & Medicaid Compliance
  • OSHA (Healthcare)
  • FDA regulations (preferred)
  • Experience reviewing US healthcare contracts and legal documentation.
  • Familiarity with healthcare risk management and compliance frameworks.
  • Excellent legal drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • JD or Master's degree in Health Law or Compliance.
  • Certified in one or more of the following:
  • Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC)
  • Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP)
  • Certified HIPAA Professional (CHP)
  • Experience working with healthcare providers, MSOs, physician groups, hospitals, or healthcare technology companies.
  • Experience supporting telehealth, digital health, or healthcare staffing organizations.
