We are a growing U.S.-based healthcare practice seeking a highly reliable, detail-oriented Junior Remote Medical Documentation Specialist / Medical Scribe to join our remote team.
This is a junior-level position with structured training. You will assist with medical documentation, chart completion, procedure notes, AI-generated documentation, ultrasound image uploads, document organization, corrections, and other clinical-administrative tasks.
We are looking for someone who is motivated, learns quickly, follows instructions carefully, communicates clearly, and can eventually complete assigned work independently without constant supervision.
Responsibilities
- Convert provider shorthand and brief clinical information into complete medical notes using established templates.
- Prepare procedure notes using established templates.
- Transfer documentation from our AI documentation system into the appropriate patient charts.
- Review documentation for obvious grammar, formatting, transcription, and template issues.
- Upload and properly organize ultrasound images in patient charts.
- Upload reports, forms, images, and other medical documents into the appropriate patient record.
- Help ensure patient charts are complete, organized, and properly documented.
- Correct notes and documentation based on provider instructions, screenshots, messages, or feedback.
- Identify obvious missing or incorrect documentation and bring it to the appropriate team member's attention.
- Assist with checking prescriptions or related documentation when requested.
- Email completed documentation to appropriate providers, offices, facilities, attorneys, or other authorized recipients when instructed.
- Follow assigned tasks through to completion.
- Assist with Workers' Compensation documentation, PARs, authorizations, and related administrative tasks after training.
- Learn additional clinical and administrative workflows as the practice expands.
- Communicate promptly with providers and team members during scheduled working hours.
We are specifically looking for someone who can eventually be given a task or problem, understand what needs to be done, complete it correctly, and follow it through without requiring repeated instructions.
Required Qualifications
Excellent English is mandatory.
Applicants must have:
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Excellent English grammar, spelling, reading comprehension, and sentence structure.
- Strong ability to understand detailed instructions in English.
- Ability to convert shorthand or fragmented information into clear professional documentation.
- Ability to understand what information was actually provided and not invent or assume information that was not provided.
- Minimum typing speed of 60 words per minute.
- Strong typing accuracy.
- Strong computer skills.
- Ability to learn new software and systems quickly.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to follow templates and established workflows consistently.
- Ability to work independently after training.
- Ability to respond promptly to messages during scheduled work hours.
- Reliable high-speed internet.
- Reliable, properly functioning computer.
- Reliable smartphone/phone connection.
- Quiet and appropriate remote work environment.
- Strong motivation and willingness to learn.
Applicants will be required to complete a typing test, English comprehension/instruction-following assessment, and medical documentation exercise before being hired.
Applicants who are not comfortable reading, understanding, and writing professional English should not apply.
Preferred Experience
Experience in any of the following is preferred:
- Medical scribing
- Medical documentation
- Nursing or another healthcare profession
- Orthopedics
- Pain management
- Physical medicine and rehabilitation
- Musculoskeletal medicine
- Sports medicine
- Physical therapy
- U.S. healthcare

Previous orthopedic, pain-management, musculoskeletal, or medical-scribing experience is strongly preferred, but we will consider junior candidates with excellent English, medical knowledge, computer skills, and the ability to learn quickly.
Work Schedule
This position supports a U.S.-based medical practice and requires working during U.S. Eastern Time business hours.
Our usual clinic hours are:
10:00 AM–7:00 PM U.S. Eastern Time
For employees located in India, this generally corresponds to:
7:30 PM–4:30 AM IST while the U.S. is observing Eastern Daylight Time, and
8:30 PM–5:30 AM IST while the U.S. is observing Eastern Standard Time.
This is therefore an evening/night-shift position in India.
Training / Initial Part-Time: Approximately 2 days per week, 9 hours per day
Regular Part-Time: Approximately 2 days per week, 9 hours per day
Full-Time: Approximately 5 days per week, 9 hours per day
Depending on clinic volume and operational needs, some shifts may occasionally extend by approximately 1 additional hour, meaning work may occasionally continue until approximately 5:30 AM IST during EDT or 6:30 AM IST during EST.
Applicants must be comfortable working these hours consistently.
Exact working days may vary based on the clinic schedule.
Compensation
Training / Evaluation Period:
₹10,000 INR per month for approximately 2 days per week.
Regular Part-Time:
₹14,000 INR per month for approximately 2 days per week after successful training and demonstrated competency.
Full-Time Starting Salary:
₹35,000 INR to 40,000 INR per month
Future compensation increases may be considered based on performance, accuracy, productivity, reliability, responsiveness, additional responsibilities, and the ability to work independently.
Advancement from training to regular part-time or full-time status is based on performance and is not automatic.
