Position Overview

We are seeking a highly qualified, passionate, and experienced Physics Teacher to teach students in Grades 11 and 12 under the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme and Cambridge IGCSE/AS & A Level Curriculum.

The successful candidate will possess strong subject expertise in Physics, excellent laboratory and instructional skills, and a commitment to inspiring students through inquiry-based learning. The teacher will be responsible for developing scientific literacy, analytical thinking, experimental skills, and academic excellence in accordance with international standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic & Teaching Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and rigorous Physics instruction aligned with IB and Cambridge curriculum requirements.
  • Prepare detailed lesson plans, laboratory activities, assessments, and instructional materials.
  • Teach core Physics topics including:
  • Mechanics
  • Motion and Forces
  • Energy and Power
  • Electricity and Magnetism
  • Waves and Sound
  • Thermal Physics
  • Atomic and Nuclear Physics
  • Electromagnetism
  • Circular Motion and Gravitation
  • Quantum and Modern Physics
  • Astrophysics (where applicable)
  • Incorporate practical experiments, demonstrations, simulations, and real-world applications.
  • Foster inquiry-based, student-centered learning and scientific investigation.
  • Encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and data-analysis skills.

IB & IGCSE Curriculum ResponsibilitiesIB Diploma Programme (DP)

  • Teach IB Physics at Standard Level (SL) and Higher Level (HL).
  • Guide students in completing Internal Assessments (IA) and scientific investigations.
  • Support independent research, experimentation, and scientific report writing.
  • Prepare students for external assessments and examinations.

Cambridge IGCSE / AS & A Level

  • Deliver Physics instruction according to Cambridge syllabus requirements.
  • Prepare students for IGCSE, AS, and A Level assessments.
  • Conduct laboratory practicals and examination-focused revision sessions.
  • Organize mock examinations and performance reviews.

Laboratory Management & Safety

  • Plan and supervise laboratory experiments and practical investigations.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety regulations and policies.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and inventory records.
  • Promote safe and responsible laboratory practices among students.
  • Coordinate laboratory resources and materials for practical instruction.

Assessment & Evaluation

  • Design and administer formative and summative assessments.
  • Evaluate coursework, laboratory reports, projects, and examinations.
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback to students.
  • Monitor student achievement and implement intervention programs when needed.
  • Maintain accurate academic records and progress reports.

Student Development & Mentorship

  • Inspire curiosity and enthusiasm for scientific exploration.
  • Mentor students interested in STEM careers and higher education pathways.
  • Encourage participation in science fairs, Olympiads, research projects, and competitions.
  • Support students in university preparation and academic planning.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress.

Curriculum Development

  • Participate in curriculum review, development, and enhancement initiatives.
  • Develop innovative teaching resources and laboratory activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across STEM disciplines.
  • Stay updated with developments in Physics, scientific research, and educational practices.
  • Support interdisciplinary learning and project-based education.

School & Professional Responsibilities

  • Attend faculty meetings, professional development workshops, and academic planning sessions.
  • Participate in school events, science exhibitions, and extracurricular activities.
  • Uphold institutional policies, safeguarding procedures, and professional standards.
  • Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive educational environment.
  • Demonstrate commitment to ongoing professional growth.

QualificationsEssential Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Physics, Applied Physics, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Bachelor's Degree with a recognized teaching qualification (B.Ed., PGCE, Teaching License, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience teaching Physics at the secondary or higher secondary level.
  • Experience teaching IB Diploma Programme and/or Cambridge IGCSE/AS & A Level curriculum.
  • Strong laboratory and practical teaching experience.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • IB-certified training in Physics.
  • Experience teaching in international schools.
  • Cambridge International assessment experience.
  • Experience with virtual laboratories and digital learning platforms.
  • Participation in scientific research or STEM initiatives.
