Fashion Design & Portfolio Presentation Intern

We are looking for a Fashion Design & Portfolio Presentation Intern with a strong visual sense, an understanding of fashion, and the ability to turn ideas and research into polished, professional presentations.

This role is particularly suitable for a current fashion/design student, recent graduate, or junior designer who already has a good foundation in fashion and design and is looking for practical, portfolio-level experience.

Students and graduates from NIFT, Pearl Academy, NID, or other recognised fashion and design institutes are encouraged to apply. Equivalent skills and a strong portfolio are equally welcome.

What You Will Work On

• Research fashion brands, designers, industry portfolios, freelance marketplaces, visual trends, and competitor positioning.
• Analyse the type and quality of work being presented by successful fashion designers and freelancers.
• Develop original fashion design concepts and portfolio-style projects based on briefs provided to you.
• Create mood boards, concept boards, colour stories, fabric and trim direction, garment concepts, fashion illustrations, technical flats, and related visual material.
• Convert research and design work into polished case studies and professional portfolio presentations.
• Help organise existing fashion work into strong visual presentations suitable for portfolios, websites, freelance platforms, and client presentations.
• Improve layouts, typography, visual hierarchy, image selection, and overall presentation quality.
• Assist with fashion research across womenswear, prêt, luxury, bridal, occasion wear, accessories, and related categories when required.
• Work from references while developing original work rather than reproducing or copying another designer's work.

What We Are Looking For

You should already have a basic understanding of fashion. This is not intended to be a role for someone completely new to design.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Education or ongoing studies in Fashion Design, Fashion Communication, Textile Design, Apparel Design, or a related discipline.
• A good eye for fashion, styling, colour, composition, and visual storytelling.
• Strong presentation and layout skills.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Ability to create professional presentations using PowerPoint, Canva, Adobe InDesign, or similar software.
• Skilled in : Fashion Illustration, Presentation Design, Mood Boards, Fashion Research, Trend Research, Garment Design, Tech Flats, Textile/Fabric Knowledge
• Understanding of mood boards, fashion illustration, garment terminology, silhouettes, fabrics, colours, trims, and fashion collections.
• Ability to conduct visual and market research independently.
• Ability to take references and turn them into original design concepts.
• Good attention to detail and an organised working style.
• Ability to understand feedback and revise work quickly.

Knowledge of Procreate, InDesign, Figma, technical flats, tech packs, fashion merchandising, or AI-assisted visualisation is an advantage.

Portfolio Requirement

Please include a portfolio or examples of your work with your application.

We are particularly interested in seeing fashion projects, collection presentations, mood boards, illustrations, technical flats, branding or fashion communication projects, and well-designed presentations.

Academic projects are completely acceptable if they demonstrate strong design thinking and presentation skills.

Who This Internship Is Best For

This internship would suit a fashion/design student or recent graduate who wants hands-on experience in fashion research, concept development, portfolio development, visual communication, and professional presentation.

The quality of your portfolio and your design sense will be more important than the number of years of professional experience you have.

Pay: Up to ₹15,000.00 per month
