Child in Need Institute (CINI) is a leading Indian NGO with over 52 years of impact since 1974. About the Project:

CINI is implementing Rural Health & Nutrition Project in Khunti Sadar and Torpa Block in Khunti District of Jharkhand.

Project Objectives :-

· Ensure safe pregnancy for high-risk and at-nutrition risk pregnancies in the project area by facilitating complete ante natal and post-natal check-ups, family planning and nutrition counselling through appropriate service linkages, home-based care, and birth preparedness.

· Improved care and support for low-birth-weight babies, sick new-borns, and severely malnourished children below 2 years of age along with complete primary immunization through community engagement, tracking and case management.

· Increased awareness of non-communicable diseases among community and service providers along with referral mechanism to ensure timely identification and referral

· Increased awareness among adolescent girls and boys on Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH), dietary diversity, anaemia and gender-based violence for prevention of early marriage, teenage pregnancy, and malnutrition.

· Enhanced capacity of communities, front line service providers, adolescent groups, women’s and self- help groups, local self-governments, and partner organizations for convergent planning of health and nutrition service.

Competencies:-

· The candidate should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills and proficiency in MS Office, Excel and Power point.

· Proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a multidisciplinary team. Strong decision-making skills to manage complex projects effectively.

· Skills in analysing both quantitative and qualitative data to prepare comprehensive reports

· Strong liaison and networking skills to build and maintain relationships with government departments, NGOs, donors, and other stakeholders to facilitate partnerships and drive collaborative initiatives.

· In-depth understanding of public health and nutrition, particularly in areas such as maternal and child health, dietary diversity, and community-based interventions.

· Expertise in developing training strategies and conducting capacity-building sessions for teams and stakeholders and to manage multiple priorities and ensure timely delivery of project activities within allocated resources.

Qualification:- Post Graduate in Nutrition/Public Health & Nutrition/ Post graduate in Social Sciences/ Rural Development and Management/ Public Health or Related discipline.

Experience:- 5 to 8 years of working experience at state level with Government Departments i.e. Health and WCD, managing teams, planning and implementation of development projects, stakeholder liasion etc. Preference will be given to the candidates having experience in working on Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition. Experience of working in Jharkhand will be an added advantage.

Job Description:

  • Developing and managing project plans, budgets, and timelines for the respective states
  • Ensuring overall implementation of the project as per the project design
  • Monitoring and evaluating project progress and impact, and making necessary adjustments to ensure success
  • Providing regular reports on project status to senior management and other stakeholders
  • Coordination with other divisions and joint work as per need
  • Liaison with government departments/ NGOs and other agencies as per programme requirements
  • Ensuring compliance with organizational policies, regulations, and legal requirements
  • Development of training strategies
  • Identifying and managing project risks, and implementing risk mitigation strategies
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate project success
  • Ensure timely compilation, analysis and submission of quantitative, qualitative, narrative and financial reports to donors/stakeholders/reporting authority
  • Support other colleagues in advocacy, data management and evidence building.

Any other activities as per the need of the organization

Desired Competencies

· Fluency in Hindi and English; command over local tribal languages/dialects of Jharkhand is highly advantageous.

Expected travel: 50% of the total time (frequently to project intervention areas and need based to Head Office or other locations)

Salary: - Rs. 60,000/- per Month (As provisioned under Project)
