Job Summary:


The Social Worker will play a pivotal role in providing Support on identification of children with developmental delay social security schemes, Organizing awareness camps and parents’ support. the Social Worker ensures holistic care and empowers families to access resources and actively participate in their child’s development.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Awareness camps

  • Organize community awareness campaigns and sensitization events on early childhood disability and inclusion.
  • Identification of children with developmental delay

  • Identification of children with developmental delay through the collaboration with government, sensitization to government front line workers, surveys and baby screening

  • Individual & Family Support

  • Collaboration with parents/caregivers.
  • Provide counselling to address emotional, behavioural, or adjustment issues related to a child’s diagnosis.
  • Facilitate parent-training workshops on behaviour management, communication strategies, and self‑care.
  • Case Management
  • Monitor and follow up on service uptake and family satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate case records, progress notes, and confidentiality.
  • Advocacy & Community Liaison
  • Advocate for the child’s rights and inclusion in community programs
  • Develop partnerships with local schools, health care providers, and welfare organizations.
  • Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
  • Collect and analyse data on service delivery (e.g., number of children served, outcomes achieved).
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly progress reports.
  • Ensure compliance with donor requirements and NGO policies.


Accountability:


  • Report directly to the Project Coordinator regarding the progress, challenges, and developments within programs.
  • Ensure alignment with organizational goals, budget management, and operational protocols for the programs.
  • Ensure transparency, ethical conduct, and full compliance with the organization’s standards and policies.


Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelors / master’s degree in social work or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in child and family social work, preferably in early intervention, special education, or disability sector.
  • Knowledge of Indian disability legislation (RPWD Act 2016), government schemes, and certification processes.


Working Conditions:


  • Onsite – Primarily works in community settings, including homes, and subcenters
  • Work hours – 9 am to 6 pm
  • Travel expectations – It involves travel within the community
