Location: Mulund, Mumbai
Designation: Senior Purchase Manager
Experience: 7–8 Years
Salary: ₹45,000–₹60,000 per Month
Industry: Steel Wire Manufacturing / Engineering

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for an experienced Senior Purchase Manager to lead and manage end-to-end procurement activities. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in vendor management, strategic sourcing, negotiation, supply chain coordination, inventory planning, and cost optimization, preferably within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIESProcurement & Sourcing

  • Manage end-to-end purchase and procurement activities for the organization.
  • Source raw materials, consumables, engineering items, spare parts, and other operational requirements.
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and service parameters.
  • Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs) and maintain accurate procurement documentation.
  • Ensure timely availability of materials to support uninterrupted production and business operations.

Vendor Management

  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, quality standards, and commercial agreements.
  • Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular vendor evaluations.
  • Identify potential suppliers and support supplier development initiatives.
  • Resolve vendor-related issues related to quality, pricing, delivery, and service.

Supply Chain & Inventory Management

  • Coordinate with suppliers, logistics partners, and internal departments to ensure timely material availability.
  • Monitor supplier lead times, logistics, inventory levels, and supply risks.
  • Maintain optimum inventory levels and minimize both stock-outs and excess inventory.
  • Coordinate closely with Production, Stores, Finance, Maintenance, and other departments.
  • Proactively identify potential supply disruptions and implement corrective actions.

Cost Optimization & Analysis

  • Analyze market trends, material prices, supplier quotations, and procurement costs.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving and value-engineering opportunities.
  • Develop effective purchasing strategies to optimize procurement costs.
  • Prepare MIS, purchase reports, cost analysis, and procurement performance reports for management.

Compliance & Process Management

  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and established procedures.
  • Maintain proper purchase records, documentation, and supplier data.
  • Ensure transparency and efficiency throughout the procurement process.
  • Support continuous improvement of purchasing and supply chain processes.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Education: Degree/Diploma in Engineering – Mechanical, Industrial, Production, or related discipline preferred.
  • Experience: 7–8 years of relevant experience in Purchase, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement, sourcing, inventory planning, logistics, and vendor management.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or engineering industry will be preferred.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Good understanding of purchase processes, documentation, and inventory control.
  • Strong commercial, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.

Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
