About the role:
Starlabs Technologies is looking for a talented and motivated Backend Developer Intern to join our growing tech team. If you're passionate about backend systems and eager to work with modern tools like Python and FastAPI, this is a great opportunity to gain real-world experience in a fast-paced and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the backend team to design, build, and maintain APIs using Python and FastAPI
  • Develop scalable and efficient server-side applications
  • Create and maintain RESTful APIs following best practices
  • Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues to ensure system performance and reliability
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to shared learning and quality improvements
  • Integrate third-party services and APIs as needed
  • Work with frontend and DevOps teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
  • Support deployment and testing activities across various environments
  • Contribute to an agile development process through sprint planning and stand-ups

Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of Python programming
  • Familiarity with FastAPI or willingness to learn quickly
  • Basic knowledge of RESTful API design and development
  • Good problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a remote, fast-moving team
  • Passion for backend development and a strong desire to learn
  • Understanding of version control tools like Git
  • Clear communication skills and a proactive mindset
  • Prior experience in academic or personal backend projects is a plus
  • Familiarity with ORMs (like SQLAlchemy) or cloud platforms is an added advantage
