Full job description

We are a growing food grains and pulses business engaged in sourcing, storage, packing, and supply of quality food products to retail and institutional customers. We are seeking a Food Safety Officer to strengthen our food safety systems, quality controls, storage practices, and FSSAI compliance.

Key ResponsibilitiesFood Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable FSSAI regulations and food safety standards.
  • Maintain food safety records, registers, and statutory documentation.
  • Assist in obtaining and renewing FSSAI licenses and registrations.
  • Prepare the organization for customer, regulatory, and internal audits.
  • Implement and monitor food safety SOPs.

Quality Assurance

  • Conduct routine inspections of incoming raw materials, packed products, and storage areas.
  • Monitor product quality parameters and report non-conformities.
  • Ensure proper hygiene and sanitation practices are followed.
  • Investigate quality complaints and recommend corrective actions.

Storage & Warehouse Management

  • Monitor storage conditions for food grains and pulses.
  • Develop measures to prevent infestation, weevil growth, contamination, and spoilage.
  • Track moisture-control practices and storage hygiene.
  • Recommend improvements in packaging and inventory handling.

Training & Awareness

  • Train warehouse staff and workers on food safety, hygiene, and handling procedures.
  • Conduct periodic awareness sessions on FSSAI requirements and best practices.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain inspection reports, corrective action records, pest-control records, and training logs.
  • Submit periodic compliance and quality reports to management.

Qualifications

  • Degree/Diploma in Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Agriculture, or related field.
  • FoSTaC Certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of FSSAI regulations, GMP, GHP, HACCP, and food safety practices.
  • Freshers with relevant qualifications may apply.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in food grains, pulses, spices, FMCG, warehousing, or food processing industries.
  • Familiarity with infestation control, moisture management, storage practices, and quality assurance systems.

Skills Required

  • Knowledge of FSSAI regulations.
  • Documentation and record management.
  • Audit preparation and compliance.
  • Strong observation and reporting skills.
  • Good communication and training abilities.

Compensation

  • Salary/Consultancy fees negotiable based on qualifications and experience.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
