Job Brief – Medical Coding Trainer Position

Role Overview

IIM SKILLS is looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Medical Coding Trainer to deliver high-quality training to students and working professionals aspiring to build careers in medical coding, healthcare documentation, and revenue cycle management.

The trainer should have strong practical and theoretical knowledge of medical coding guidelines and be capable of explaining complex coding concepts in a simple, structured, and learner-friendly manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct live online training sessions on medical coding.
• Explain medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and healthcare documentation.
• Provide detailed training on CPT, HCPCS Level II, ICD-10-CM, and ICD-10-PCS as applicable.
• Teach official coding guidelines, conventions, and sequencing principles.
• Explain evaluation and management (E/M) coding and documentation requirements.
• Train students on diagnosis and procedure code selection using real-world case scenarios.
• Explain modifiers, global surgery concepts, bundling, and unbundling.
• Cover medical coding for different specialties.
• Conduct case studies, coding exercises, quizzes, and assessments.
• Help students understand medical records and physician documentation.
• Clarify coding-related doubts and provide constructive feedback.
• Prepare training materials, assignments, coding examples, and practice cases.
• Keep students updated with relevant coding guideline and code-set changes.
• Prepare students for medical coding certifications and job interviews where required.

Preferred Experience

• 2+ years of medical coding experience preferred.
• Training/teaching experience is an advantage.
• Experience with U.S. healthcare, medical billing, or RCM is preferred.
• Experience preparing students for CPC/medical coding certification examinations is an advantage.

Compensation

₹800 per teaching hour

Additional terms such as session scheduling, payment cycle, course duration, assessment responsibilities, and preparation requirements may be finalized between the trainer and IIM SKILLS.
