Location: India (Remote/Office – As Applicable)
Working Hours: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Canadian Time)
About Tax Star
Tax Star is a Canada-based accounting firm providing professional accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, and tax services to businesses and individuals across Canada. We are committed to delivering exceptional client service and maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and professionalism.
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Associate to join our growing team. This role is ideal for candidates with a minimum of 2 years of accounting experience who are eager to build a long-term career in Canadian accounting and taxation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day client communication and maintain strong client relationships.
- Provide prompt and professional customer service by responding to client inquiries.
- Perform bookkeeping and maintain accurate financial records.
- Prepare financial statements, working papers, and accounting schedules.
- Prepare tax returns and accounting work in accordance with Canadian accounting and tax standards.
- Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes.
- Maintain organized client files and ensure compliance with internal procedures.
- Support the team with other accounting and administrative responsibilities as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com) or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting (2–3 years preferred).
- Experience with an international or foreign accounting firm will be an added advantage.
- Candidates pursuing or planning to pursue the Chartered Accountant (CA) designation are preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
- Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Willingness to learn and apply Canadian accounting and tax regulations.
Work Schedule
- January to June: Six-day work week.
- July to September: Complimentary seasonal leave. Employees may occasionally be requested to work depending on business requirements.
- October to December: Six-day work week.
Holidays & Leave Policy
- One week of paid company shutdown from 25 December to 1 January.
- Major Indian festivals, including Diwali, along with a few other important festivals, will be observed.
- Please note: No festival leave will be granted during the peak tax season from January through April, except in exceptional circumstances.
Working Hours
9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Canadian Time)
