Reports to: Senior Officer- Senior Officer - Security, Surveillance & Fire Safety

Role:To support the safety, security, and wellbeing of students, staff, visitors, and School property through effective monitoring of security systems, implementation of security procedures, and coordination of day-to-day surveillance and access control activities. The role will assist in maintaining a safe and secure campus environment in line with School policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Security Management

• Conduct regular security assessments, inspections, and audits to identify and mitigate risks.
• Support the implementation and monitoring of the School's security policies and procedures.
• Liaise with local law enforcement agencies and emergency services, as required.
• Manage and maintain the School's access control systems, including access control software, card readers, and access card programming.
• Oversee the operation and administration of the Visitor Management System and Third-Party Verification (TPV) processes.
• Manage day-to-day key control operations and key issuance records.
• Ensure compliance with campus access and security protocols.

2. Surveillance Operations

• Oversee the effective operation and maintenance of surveillance systems, including CCTV and alarm systems.
• Ensure continuous monitoring and recording of CCTV footage.
• Review live and recorded surveillance footage to support investigations and incident management.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance (PPM) of CCTV systems and other security equipment with vendors.
• Ensure the proper functioning of all security-related equipment, including:
  • CCTV systems
  • X-ray baggage scanners
  • Hand-Held Metal Detectors (HHMD)
  • Door Frame Metal Detectors (DFMD)
  • Mechanical gates and bollards
  • Turnstiles
  • Walkie-talkie communication systems
• Escalate security concerns and equipment failures promptly.

3. Incident Response and Reporting

• Respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies, alarms, and breaches.
• Support investigations into security and safety incidents.
• Maintain accurate incident records and prepare reports for management review.
• Assist in developing, implementing, and reviewing incident response plans.
• Escalate significant incidents to the Senior Officer - Security, Surveillance & Fire Safety and relevant authorities when required.

4. Training and Awareness

• Support the delivery of training programmes on security protocols, emergency procedures, and fire safety practices.
• Promote a culture of safety, vigilance, and security awareness across the School community.
• Assist with awareness campaigns and emergency preparedness initiatives.

5. Collaboration and Communication

• Work closely with the Senior Officer - Security, Surveillance & Fire Safety and other departments to ensure a coordinated approach to campus safety and security.

• Conduct risk, safety, and security assessments for School trips, events, and activities.

• Prepare health and safety reconnaissance (recce) reports for management review.

• Support traffic management during student drop-off, pick-up, and School events.

• Assist in managing community, visitor, and guest access during School events.

• Communicate security concerns, unusual activities, and incidents promptly to the Senior Officer - Security, Surveillance & Fire Safety.

• Support initiatives to maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming campus environment
